I have been a lookylu on this ride, but I love all the quilts and wished I would have jumped in at the beginning. I think I will jump on for the next ride. I'm sure I won't be disappointed and my scrap pile could be put to good use.

Judy, am I going to able to use just three colors as long as I have a variety of fabrics, or does it need to be total scrappy? I have a variety of red, white and black based fabrics. I wouldn't be concerned if it weren't for an auction to raise money at the Cystic Fibrosis dinner dance. I like colorful scrappy under normal circumstances.

I still need to finish the last set of blocks. First, I was sidetracked with Chirstmas. Now, I'm sidetracked with charity blankies (blankets), and then it will be clean up the sewing room so I can walk through it without breaking my neck. So, there you go...will post a picture when I get it done. Right now, January's looking good, but hope for sooner. :-) And hey, join in ...lurkers are fine, but these train trips are nifty!!

I finished slow but finished the back today for this quilt. I had opted to piece what I had left into something to make a back for this. I however had odd sizes left so it was a strip 4 inches, a 29 x 42 and a 4 inch and then another piece and a 4 inch then the bottom half even scrapper but kept with long length and 4 inch wide and then wider then 4 inch hodge podge of use it ups.. and it works looks very good for scrappers and well I was happy sorta I didnt go out and spend another 25 for backing. I was working with what I had to begin with. I am also not fond of all the pinkys in this so buying MORE and leaving me with some leftover well how good an idea would that have been? I did weight in tonight gee hours making this work vs one big old piece cut and tada your done.. there are advantages. I still think.. the price was right for this time of year. NO extra expenses. I am going to use the 45 degree angle pieces for the binding. and its going to work perfectly crossing fingers. I am a bit apprehensive about stuffing that size quilt into my sewing machine for quilting. lots of tight rolling. and patience. oodles of that too. ok off to cook dinner and maybe pin a quilt!

Here is my top all done and I love it! I love the way it turned out. I don't know if the picture is to dark because the border is a dark chocolate brown not black. Thank you Judy. I can't wait for the next train trip!

Jannie, hope to see you in a couple weeks when the new one starts.

AnngelAnn - Beautiful!!! I love it, too, you did a great job.

Irish, absolutely no reason why you can't have a scrappy 3-color quilt! I think it will be great.

I am so in again. Hope to get back to working on the last one as I am almost done with my Christmas sewing.

But, this is not a big involved 5 or 6 week quilt, and can be accomplished in 2 or 3 longish lessons -- I thought maybe I could give you mystery fans something to do in January until the next mystery quilt train starts the middle or end of February.

Hmmm .... I know some of you are still hanging around in the club car -- just wondered if anyone had any interest. I was thinking of posting 12/29, 1/5 and 1/12.

Everyone's tops/quilts are coming out lovely.

Judy, thanks for doing this. I am a maybe on the quick scrapper or commuter train mystery in January. I am trying to finish this one. The blocks are up on the design wall and I keep going back and forth on whether to keep it as is or divide and conquer. So I have been working on getting a binding on a UFO that I quilted at Thanksgiving.

If I finish it I can take it with me at Christmas and quilt it on my Mom's long arm.

I do plan to keep my ear to the ground for the spring Mystery Train though.
