Judy Im glad to hear you are on the mend... I totally agree with Elisabrat. Take care of you... It's good to hear from you even if its from your hospital bed.

I went shopping for now I can't remember if its the third or fourth shopping expedition for blue fabrics. I rethought my fabrics again and am determined its time to use them blues. So now four hundred dollars in fabric later (because you know when you find a sale and awesome fabric selections you have to come home with more than just blue fabric) I have several choices. I purchase separate fabric for the wedding gift and have decided to make the Blue Ribbon Twist quilt designed by Jill Reber off of E-patterns.com for the gift. So this fun project will be for my quilt collection. As I am sure it is going to be magnificent and I probably won't want to give it away at the end..anyway. LOL Lots of high wind here in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Lost some roof shingles and tree limbs down but that's about it so far. Wind warnings are suppose to only be in effect until 8pm tonight. Alls good here hope everyone else in the storms path is fairing well also.

You're shopping sounds like mine jenniky! Same thing going to the grocery store for milk and bread, heavens that stuff is expensive, cost me 150.00 to get out the door. As for fabric I can always find something that I just might use and if course if there's 5 or 6 colors, well might as well get them all. I know they'll come in handy someday. the blenders can be my downfall, I reason with myself that I use them all the time so I just got over it and buy those by the bolt. We have a very tough life....probably a good thing we live far enough apart so we can't shop together

Glad to see that you are on the mend Judy. Do take it slow when you get home.

Ok, fellow travelers, I have a big batch of Chicken Gumbo going in the crock pot. I did not add the Andouille sausage so it won't be too spicy for those who did not grow up eating Cajun food. Will be serving it with Basmati Brown rice. Ummmm. Ever so good.

My prayers today will go to all of those who are enduring hurricane Sandy and the aftermath. The worst is yet to come.

oh dear gumbo, squeezing my way past the lines coming in! incoming! News flash: krystyna who runs the DQ swaps has lost her home in NY she is ok as is her family she chose to ride it out and was i think very lucky to get out of there alive. I think she can use your prayers right now and a kind word to her if you see her online. So many of us have participated in her swaps before.

ok now onto the quilting here: ready oh ready and wow going shopping and ending up with all that fabric.. i will gladly take your rejects! I think its a great idea getting blenders on a bolt.. if I could get black/white and red to start with that sure would help with boom swaps and my projects too! its my fantasy shhhh dont wake me up. I will get a yard of each instead I think this way I can get another yard or two of something else. Connecting threads right?

No problem Linda. One nice thing about Gumbo is that I can toss in more okra and smoked sausages, there will be enough for everyone.

So sad to hear that krystyna has lost her home. And I know that we will soon learn of others also. Has anyone posted a thread on the QB to report information regarding our QB friends in the storm area?

Earlier they were saying that they were okay and safe but that the lower level had water but they would be fine. Just saw the news report of the island and they stated that 1st floors in homes had been flooded but none were lost. Think maybe we'll just have to wait until we hear from Krystyna as to the extent of damage. The island was covered with water so I'm sure she'll have that damage but she has said they have very good flood insurance. That will be a blessing for cleanup, repairs and replacements.

Oh, what beautiful fabrics, I m still in, just not quite in a spot to contribute much yet! Life is going to get a lot easier next week. I am praying for all in the path of Sandy, so much destruction!

Judy, I hope you are feeling better. Nothing like a bad back to slow you down.

I have my fabrics picked out except my E and F... But since this weekends trip is taking me to my Son's and some cute shops, I might just have to find and E and F there.

I run on Sunday (26.2 miles!) and have a dinosaur of a computer. My hubby left my Lap top and my Kindle on work site... Won't see either till Tuesday! But I guess I will figure out a way to survive! I think lucky for him I won't see him either! LOL... He knows I am already a nervous wreck, so figures he better stay outta my sight! He really is wonderful but we sure have fun with our banter, I am really going to miss him at the finish line, but he has to get the contract finished on time. He says he will see the next one! I think there will not be a next one! 6 marathons is enough for any one life time~

The food on this ride is wonderful, I wish I could eat this rich all the time and not have to pay the consequences for it!

Welcome back, Judy...take your time getting back to normal (whatever that is right?). Backs take time, among other things! I managed to get my step 3 done today...thank you that it is quick & easy at the start, so I am managing to keep up so far. Craftshow stuff has to take priority right now. I'm happy that I changed my C fabric (it has sparklies in it--how fun!).
