wait wait wait Dotcom did you save me any of that nice german food you cooked? my mother was from Germany and I miss her cooking so much sometimes. No recipes of course she just did it in her head she said. I do that too but this last Christmas for my daughter I wrote her a cookbook of all of my recipes in my head and in a folder that i had dragged around for years. She loves it. The boys were angry .. how come they didnt get one too? you might try it its something irreplaceable.. everyone remembers the food from home good bad always one or two favorites.

those blue fabrics are so pretty is one of them a sparkly fabric or is it just the lighting?

Jenniky, shopping is such fun! Good for you! :-) Can't wait to see those blues.

VickiM love the sparkly and contrast. What girl doesn't like sparkly?

I, too, shopped and then decided I didn't want my original green. Sigh. I always do this to myself. And then I cut the new fabric wrong, so have to go buy more. Say, want to come shop with me anyone?
All my family and friends who were in the storm are okay and had power the last time I checked on them. Prayers for those who are in the middle of life changes and challenges from this storm.

Ok here is the final selection I made. B and D are the new fabrics I found on this last shopping trip and F is from the second shopping trip. These fabrics feel right to me. So unless I get any veto's Im going to start cutting and get caught up on the clues tomorrow.

Hope everyone in the path of Sandy is safe and dry.
Here are my steps 2-3. The fabric is not this orangy, but this camera puts a yellow tinge on everything. The sheet these are sitting on is bright white, but looks dingy-yellow in this photo. I need to trim the squares, but the cutting and sewing is done.
BTW, I made egg, bacon and cheese taquitos this morning if anyone is interested and still have my homemade peach salsa to put on them. Delish!

Perfect jenniky! I love these. I need to have my head examined, cut out 3rd step yesterday and sewed. Put them with other set and about died! What on earth was I thinking? apparently not 'cause it looked awful. Pullled out more fabric and going to restart. Think I'm going to end up having 2 tops, lavenders for 1 and teals for the other. You guys should have told me I was nuts, where were you, yup too much food and happy juice. I need somebody to keep me on the straight and narrow or I'll be falling off the caboose......Maybe bacon and eggs, absolutely NO bloody mary's.

Good morning all I am new on this site and have been reading your posts and have been enjoying this great train ride. I too am doing this mystery quilt. Have clue #2 done and will do #3 today and will post later on today. I am looking forward to my trip on the train and all the awesome food with it. After this trip will really have to work hard to lose all the pounds gained on this trip. i will contribute a big pot of homemade pea soup if anyone is interested. Looking forward to meeting all on this trip.

Jenniky - I love those blues! Now, please remember I am a complete newbie at mystery quilts, so take the rest of this note with a grain of salt. You might want to consider switching A&B as well as C&D. A is supposed to be lighter than B and C darker than D. But other than that small switch, your colours look fabulous to me.
