Well, I finally was able to print this pattern out! I tried three printers that we had at the house, an HP, Lexmark and Canon. Of course I tried the Canon last, and it printed the 1" test square out correctly. No luck with the HP or Lexmark. The HP did print out page 1 and 3 correctly, but not page 2. I could find no way to copy this pattern and put into Word to resize. Yeah, success at last!

By the way, the HP and Canon will print on the Scribble Pad paper that I cut down to 8 1/2 X 11, but the Lexmark will not print on that paper. I have not figured out how it knows it is not regular paper. Anyone have any luck with the Lexmark, please let me know what setting you use. Thanks.

I have a Canon all-in-one printer and had to adjust the scale multiple times in order to get the approximate 1" and had to do it on all 3 pages.

I'm having the same issue with my HP3050 deskjet - I cannot find a place to change the percentage of printing...

Any suggestions? Otherwise I'll keep looking online - or pull out the manual

E.T.A. - GOT IT!!! Found the place to adjust the percentage to print under PRINT PREVIEW - then Custom Size it. Got mine to print exactly 1" at 103% - after 5 tries.

E.T.A. **Try this first*** I went back and pulled up page 2 of templates (main log cabin). Clicked on the cabin and the block increased in size just a little bit on my screen. I then PRINTED and it came out 1" exactly. Guess I didn't have to mess with the percentages afterall.

Whewww - got the block foundation pieced but then my machine started skipping stitches...guess it's tired...so I quit and will finish tomorrow...even if it's on another machine.

The block really isn't hard. I cut my strips 1" wide but others may chose to cut 1 1/4 to 1 1/2. The end pieces on the points I cut about 2" just to make sure they reached the end of the point.

Thanks quiltinghere! This is such helpful info, as I have not started my block yet.

    ********NOTE NOTE NOTE*********

Several of us are not happy with the fabric layout as given in the directions. We were happier with our results when we put light where dark is and dark where light is.

See the picture thread for this BOM

HI I printed out the pattern this morning. I was having trouble with the log cabin square and could not find a way to print it out. Went back to the beginning and went with landscape and somehow it came out 1" exactly Never will understand the mind of the printer. I have a new Hp photosmart and it make lots of noise before it prints. Will have to wait to start the block. My great- granddaughter is having a baby girl in August and I have to get her quilt finished first. A great block Thanks for choosing it

You're welcome - I think it's cute and I think it challenged us all a bit.

That's the nice part of participating in a BOM where others chose the blocks - it MAKES us test new things...wonder if someone's going to do an applique star block in the future. I have little experience with applique.
