Aren't you glad the rain has finally ended? I thought I was growing gills there for a while.

I'm with Betty; I wasn't too thrilled with the May block (apologies to our person who gave it to us). It is a lesson learned; one block may not be exciting, but many repeated or mixed with another can have a stunning effect. Thanks for the visual reminder. I will never think less of a block again.

that's one of the greatest things about using Blocks of the Month as the base for my quilts this year. by requiring myself to use both blocks in a monthly quilt, i have no "choice" but to find ways to make the two work together in one top.

so far, i've been lucky. the "hardest" part has been picking the fabs. in each month, the two blocks have formed the partnerships with no fuss, muss or brain bending. i just sit back and wait for the two choosers to design my tops for me.

how did you get those inner circles in white? is that a special patrice trick?
and how do you estimate the yardage? just buy the bolt and hope for the best?

there was no magic trick involved. i traced around an old CD to make sure the circles would be circles.

then i printed smaller circles on paper, which i pinned to the center to use as satin stitching guides. (the thread is matte gold. new camera, but i guess you can't get a good pic from anything under $80 million. )

    i'm not sure it's show-worthy, but i sure appreciate that compliment. :P
