So exciting, I am working on sewing down my fused pieces. Next block I think I will cut the centers out of more of the web before fusing to the fabric. I did it on the vase because it is so big, but not on the rest, and now I wish I had. But it'll be OK, as I use very light web and over time it will soften with washings. My DH seems not too interested in this piece, except to say it's pretty. But my mom...wow, she loved it!!! :-)

Peg, I don't think I have the patience to try hand applique...I work FAST, and hand work seems so very tedious to me!!! I love you work, and admire it tremendously, but until later in my life I don't think it's for me. At least not right now. :-)

I find that women love this style and men are more drawn to pieced. Don't know why; must be a man thing!

Glad your Mom loves it, maybe a xmas present in the works?

Didn't mean to pressure you, of course do what you love. I agree when I need a quick fix, I too, fuse.

No pressure taken!! :-) Glad to hear you are not a purist...I like doing various techniques too, depending on my circumstances at the time. Fast or slow...

Here is my machine applique so far. I decided to do it all in one color to give it a little bit of country look. I'm happy with it so far, but my stitching can use some improvement. As I do this I am sure my skill will improve.
