Well, I've got the book, the ruler, and went shopping for fabric today. I've taken some notes from the posts here and I think I am getting a little excited about it! Time to print patterns and hoping to be ready on day 1 ; )

Oh,Oh. I've been reading along and this is the first time that (I remember) someone (Pam P, above) mentioning a ruler!
Could someone let me know what ruler or rulers are advised for this project. I am hoping to follow along too. Thanks!

Question. On the CD it has Paper Piecing, Templates and Block Diagrams. Which one are people printing out and using? I am so confused! EEEK. Do you print out the paper piecing then put fabric on that and stitch it to the diagram block or what? Help a newbie out ladies.

Sweet, I think they're referring to add-a-quarter rulers that some find helpful when paper piecing. It's not essential, but a lot of people like them.
Texastam, I'm a paper piecer, so I print out the paper piecing templates, but I don't cut any fabric until I'm actually making the block. If you decide to paper piece, print the templates on the paper you want to sew with. I use freezer paper, but others use regular copy paper or vellum or newsprint, to name a few.

Sweet, here's a link to the ruler and it's on sale! You can get it other places too. http://www.joann.com/add-a-quarter-or-add-an-eighth-rulers/prd25320.html

Texastam, here are a couple of paper packs, but there are many kinds and brands available. This is just to point you to a couple possibilities. If you read through this thread, you'll find very affordable alternatives mentioned.

Oh, Thanks so much! I already have it! Somehow I was thinking there was some other special ruler. I guess a 6 or 6.5 square up ruler might come in handy too!

I'm going to try this one out also. I'm gathering all my 30's - I do have some of the solids and I should be getting the blocks printed out soon. I'm so excited that I found this. This will be a joy to do and I love doing it as a group. Hope all are as excited as I am.
