I am frustrated with mine. I HATE WORKING WITH BIAS! The sides are too big or too small at the points. Almost got mine finished and it is really off on one side.
I am going to try again, and hopefully can post a pic tomorrow. Maybe the cheap fabric I used for half the block is to blame.

i feel your pain, QM. sometimes when having to work with triangles - especially if they mean i'll be stitching on the bias - i deliberately make them too big and then trim back. i use a little more fabric, but save on headache remedies.

Finally! One more done! I had to rip seams so many times I quit counting. My difficulty had to do with the math!!! What was I thinking? Well, obviously I wasn't thinking! But I persevered and here they are! Two snail trails and my quilts now have 6 blocks. 6 done and 6 to go. Progress is so intoxicating!
Two quilts to be. I can't say I have a favorite. I like them both.

Beautiful blocks...have been wanting to make a Snail's Path block just to try it but all the comments on the stretching and shrinking makes me think there are a million OTHER blocks to make that don't need a lot of math, ripping out, etc. Your blocks are beautiful and yes, progress is intoxicating and I'm proud of you for hanging in there on a project that gave you some "burrs under your saddle." You are a more devoted quilter than I! Good work.
