Belfry- I LOVE the extra rows of HST's! I have loved all the quilts made but I might love the scrappies an extra bit more!

Hoprigmom: Sounds like a lot of hard work, its not easy keeping bread on America's tables. Looking forward to seeing your colors together in the quilt!

whispering.......there is always more wine.......see the little flight of stairs in the middle of the caboose, they are to the wine cellar....that is where I hid the dark chocolate Dove bars at the beginning of the trip (Judy did not find all of them, only the ones in the box ) there are some Border Dark Chocolate ginger biscuits behind the pinot noir.

Sewing very last seam now. I am a slow poke.

Mine is all delayed because we were away for our lovely Nephew's wedding at the weekend. But I am back in the groove now!

belfry - have you tried putting the borders next to the original HSTs and then more HSTs around the outside?

You mean like this? The HSTs are only going on the ends.

Or here's another possibility -- for some reason I like the idea of some kind of unified border going around the quilt.
I wish the green was wider, but it is strips that were already cut.

I like the hst inside the borders, on the outside like these two make it look like an afterthought instead of designed.

I like the first way with the HSTs inside the borders, too.

I vote for keeping the HST inside that blue border.

If belfry put a matching border of HSTs, if she had enough fabric, and only had a single border around the quilt pattern, it would look like it belonged. Then another wider border to finish it off.
