Belfry, How about flipping the add-on and make it part of the design. maybe it would ruin the over all. ???

I'm not sure what you mean by a matching border of HSTs? If you mean around the whole quilt, I don't have enough scraps to make that many more HSTs -- I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel as it is. Plus, I if I'm understanding you, wouldn't that make the border the same size all around? I need to lengthen the quilt by at least 15" to make it fit a twin bed.

Hmm. Hadn't thought of doing that. I'll play with it later. Thanks.

I like this idea the best so far. It looks like it is part of the quilt design.

I really like this layout the best, with the borders following. Even turn the last piece around and see if that looks cute - like flying geese?

I finished mine today. I had to go back through my fabric on hand for a border fabric that would work. I did not have enough of the original fabric for borders. If I am able to find a match for the burgundy fabric I will put on a wider border next to the blue one. I really enjoyed this train trip. A great big thank you Judy!! I love this design.

Will use the time in between to bind 9 other quilts that are waiting for me. Also am cutting out a bargello of Christmas fabrics. I have been piecing and quilting since the 1950s oh excuse me I meant to say a long time....ahem. and this will be a first for me . Hope I can do it.I sure do have lots of scraps so hurry up and get to desining the MQ for Jan. Are you sure you cant start it in Dec.? lol Thanks again, Jo
