Kate, I love what you did with your quilt. It really turned out spectacular. Great border, it adds so much to the whole quilt.

While you are waiting those three months and have some free time start to organize your scraps!
Separate all the different colors: red, yellow, blue, green, black, grey, neutral etc.
Then start to separate each color into light, medium and dark. You will have many, many piles but then you will know what you have available to use for a scrappy quilt. Look here on the board and go through the post with pictures of scrappy quilts and see how the lights, mediums and dark's play together.

You will get some idea of where you are missing colors you might like to have and can be prepared.
I hope to join you all on the next train ride.

Wow, we certainly created a lot of beautiful quilts from your pattern Judy. Every one different, yet lovely. I got some good ideas. I am one of those that sticks with the pattern, but learned from this that I don't need to be that way, I can really do anything....just have to try!

Great idea, Susie. Thanks for the hint.

lynnie - yes, you will need some neutrals to go with your mediums and darks. Don't go buy anything in lights as yet, I give you a hint later on if you will need some. I would hate to have anyone go out any buy stuff they don't need.

    siodach your border is fantastic!

Kate, your border is amazing? Any tips or tricks that you can share on how do figure out how to make a scrappy border like that fit?
