I am so happy to hear you ladies say that. My quilty friends always try talk me into leaving things, but I know I will just keep thinking about it and then every time I look at the project my eye will go straight to the goof! I don't think its about perfection, but the knowing that it's there and I can do something about it

My problem is I never see the mistake until the top is finished, layered and quilted. I just have to call it my humility block. lol Jo

jolo, I use to do that too. Now a take a pic of the quilt, maybe even a couple of times, as I'm putting it together. Load it on the computer and when it's on the screen I can usually spot an error right away. Has saved me lots of frustration, you might try that and see if it helps.

Yes, taking a picture really does help Jan. It also really helps with color value too. If you can look at a picture in greyscale it's even better!!
I have also found putting it up on the design wall and walking away for at least 5 minutes..coming back and looking with "fresh" eyes really helps!

I never thought about taking a picture before putting it together Jaba. Thanks for the tip.

Another way to check is to get one of those door spyholes, they can be purchased at most hardware stores for under $10. Looking through it lets me see the pattern from a "distance" and spot any problems.

Finally got my first one together. For some reason, assembling and quilting this one was hard for me. I'm going to work on something else before I finish the scrappy one--maybe a change will help!

I'll take a picture and post it on the other thread tomorrow.
