You might also look at some of the other folks choices to get an idea of what might work -- that is what I did, and with the comments from others, was able to make my decision.
I've done mysteries before where they suggest the tone (light/med/dark, print, etc). It seemed like Judy was suggesting better placements for everyone's selections. I'll just wing it. Thanks Karyn

Hey Paintmejudy!! I found a batik that might work instead of the stripes I had for C, but I'm not sure with the way it's cut. It's only 13 inches wide, but is cut parallel to the selvage so it's 88 inches long. Being a new quilter I'm not sure if it's even ok to use it if it's cut that direction??

Also I'm not wild that there's not a lot of contrast between the batik and the raindrop fabric (D). Will I be happier with the results if I swap D for E, if so I only have 38 inches available of E is that enough.

    THANKS!

Nana2ten those are very pretty and I love the contrast in them. I was nervous on the last ride too. But that was part of the fun. Watch what everyone else , especially Judy 's pictures and then you try it and say " wow that was easy". It doesn't move to fast with lots of steps. That's what I like about the ride.

Boy oh boy!! I'm confused and enjoying the ride. It's such a busy group here. Miss a hour and miss a bunch of posts.
I HAD to press to cut and trim those patches. I seem to always press in the wrong direction, but it all turns out well.
Desert is in the club car....Flan with fresh raspberries on the side.

Canny, sorry I got your name wrong
Stylish use orange as C if you want it the least prominent
sdeaaz - just use something you like, they are all good. Maybe yellow for D unless you find a darker red-orange
    poker -
belfry - not even close but love the looks of your quilt
    bille - I like this!
billie and lynnie and everyone else that commented about the pressing -- sorry, everyone, fprgpt all about having to press before tirmming. just press to the dark and can rearrange later if need be. My bad. Hope that's my only boo boo!
thanks to everyone for the warm welcome to moemoe
