I made a practice block today. It took me 2 1/2 hours. I think it came out ok.
It seemed a bit bulky to sew the unit together with the paper on. Do you all leave the paper until all the units are together, or do you remove the paper when the units are individually done? |
I remove the paper from the individual units before I assemble the whole block!!

I remove the paper too, then sew them together.
The other method I've used is to cut the paper along the sewing line, so when it comes to sewing them together the paper is still there stabilising but it's not under the needle. |

i leave the paper on. i remove only the section that would get trapped behind a seam.

I take the paper off. It's easier to line up the seams for me.
