I tried it last night using reverse applique.....it did not work for me...so I'm going to try to learn to sew curves. I think I might use my glue baste pen instead of pins though...I'm thinking it might hold it better...would that be better or worse?

Don't be scared of curves, they are not all that hard, really really, would I lie to you?

Unless I printed the wrong template sizes, my center was MUCH smaller than the outer pieces. I'll double check the software and get back to you.

I'm cutting pieces and bagging them *especially the applique* so I have take alongs to fit into my hectic life. This is one I'll have to put on hold for a day of concentration, I think. =)

I've got it! The corners are not supposed to match up...that's why they looked too big. After checking the software, I see that the center does not extend all the way to each corner so pinning has to be adjusted. It will be fine...I'm done freaking out. THANKS.

Don't freak out, you will do just fine!

retrogirl02 02-08-2010 03:57 PM

Thanks for the encouragement, Janstar. I just put it down because I know I need to concentrate on it. I'm really not stressed about it anymore. Once I get some more blocks prepped, I'll get it done.

Glad you freaked and mentioned it retro...now I'll know what to expect

sandpat, so glad panic-mode is helpful for something!! It's nice getting to do other things this week. My husband is helping me cut out hexigons for my niece's quilt....do I have a keeper or what?!?
