Last year, I used a similar technique with SBS, but I quilted the top,batting,backing blocks and then joined the blocks together. Actually, I machine stitched the backs together and ended up hand stitching just one side of the seam between the blocks. It was given to a hospital or I would post a picture. I do like the idea of having it DONE when it's done. I think having the backing all in one piece would take less fabric. What do you think?
