Hi Elle. I haven't posted any recently. I'll have to get them all together and lay them all out, but it will probably take a few days.

That isn't a trip I'll be making again. Next time I'll need at least a day between to rest up!

Good to have you back with us Tiff - if it were me, I would need a week in between. Did you know you can get half way round the world in less time than it took you to do that drive? (Well, nearly anyway).

We must have hit every wreck between here and Southern California! Getting through Vegas was a nightmare and in retrospect we should have simply pulled off somewhere and gone to eat dinner or something. And all of Utah felt like it was under construction. :-P If we went through a light it was red...it was just a very long trip!

It was worth every bit of it though. I had so much fun with my grandson. What a great kid.

Hiya' Tiff! Glad to see you back! Sounds like a lovely time with the kiddo....but a booger of a trip. You and your DH should have just pulled off and spent the night out. It takes me awhile to recover from stuff like that too nowdays. I just don't spring back like I used too...plus..I live in a rut and really hate to get out of it...

Now..like Elle said...Pictures girl....we WANT pictures!!!

Pro...thats a good idea about the water soluable...but it isn't too bad really. I just do it while I'm watching the tube.

I got a request from Karen to show a pic of the back of my quilt. so here is part of it. I am happy that there is enough quilting on the back, I quilted in the ditch around all the blocks, and around the pieced triangles, plus several rows through all three layers on the scallops.

It seems adequately stable to me, nothing is shifting, and I don't see how the batting could shift, because it is well quilted on every block, and they are only 4 1/2in. I don't necessarily think that this method would work with say 12in blocks, unless you did some extra quilting through each block, but with this size, I am not worried.

Back of the corner of my quilt.

Lesley, I'm so glad you showed the back...I think it will be just fine like that...after all...most of the batting does say that you can quilt...x" apart"...what type of batting did you use..W & N?

Elle...I can't wait to see more pics of your fan quilt...I know it is spectacular!
