I want to do the corner stones as close to Jane's as possible, as long as I came this far.

I must have a look at the pattern for these corner stones are they applique? They just look a nice shape for the corners thought it would finish it off nicely

Jan, I think you are remaining more "true" to Jane's vision than the rest of us. Your quilt is going to be lovely!

I think so too, the colours are beautiful perhaps a little better than the Jane but then its probably faded with the years.

Well you know Jan would have had lots more options for fabric selection than Jane would have had. My DH keeps reminding me that Jane had a lot harder job than I've had doing the blocks...nice guy isn't he???:lol:

Thanks guys! I agree that Jane probably did'nt have the sources that we all have but she done good!! I'm stumped on week 41 though, can't figure out E11, G1 or G7. Even 'that quilt' could'nt help me this time. This is where I will fall behind most likely.

I made it through those...but they were hard. Here is some info on what I did since we haven't posted the week yet.

G1- I made 2 - 4 patches. I then traced that odd shape onto freezer paper for a template. The 1st 4 patch became the background and I used the template on the 2nd 4 patch to make an applique pattern.

E-11- I printed the block and traced that center design onto freezer paper. I cut a plastic template for the circle and appliqued the circle down, then appliqued the funny star looking piece on top of the circle. I then appliqued the qrt. circles on the corners using freezer paper method.

G7- This took a little bit to figure out I didn't like the way thatquilt blog did it either. I paper pieced the entire background minus the pie shapes. I then appliqued the pie shapes onto the background.

I talked to Lesley about this one. She had a better idea. She cut out a circle larger than what is shown..then cut it into 4 sections. Iron the curve side under, then insert the 4 sections in as you are piecing the background section together. Sew the curves down. Either of these 2 ways will work out..and I'm sure there are even more ways to do it too.

Just popped in to see what you are all up to. Someone, sorry, 2 or 3 pages back, said that she would have liked to make wider sashings, but then the triangles wouldn't fit.

I used 3/4in sashing, instead of 1/2in, and basically made my in between triangles a little larger to compensate.

You don't even have to do any maths, just cut out some paper squares the same size as finished blocks, plus some strips the same size as your sashings, plus a few triangles. Stick them down on a table top with some sticky tape, and play with the size of the in between triangles! Of course, if you are computer savvy, the software should be able to do it.
