Thanks so much for the ideas Sandpat and Laceylady! I might start out with graph paper for awhile. Like you said you can also mark off the blocks you have already done and get more of a visual. Thanks again you two!

That was a great idea Lesley. Wish I had thought of that. think I am going to have to switch quite a few blocks round but not to worry as Patti says this is my quilt.
Awe Patti you sussed me out yep good idea with the Trapunto design LOL I should just about catch you up if you do that. No truly I do believe it will be great and add a further dimension to your lovely quilt which I love by the way. Blinky you are doing great Elle |

Oh, probably not a "tied" finish. Elle gets going and she is just darn [i]speedy![/i/] I have all the rows sewn together except for M, so today I plan to sew the rows into 2 sections. I'm planning to baste the batting together on the back before I join the 2 sections. I think that will be a little easier to handle. So...thats my plan for today :D:

Well done Patti - can we have a WIP pic sometime please? You will thank me for asking once it's done and you can look back at the pics.

Blinky, Here is my "Lo-Tech" version of a design wall! :)
Way back in 1997, I drew out ALL 169 blocks, selected fabric, labeled them, and bagged them up in sandwich baggies. I drew out this fancy chart and glue-stuck (past tense of glue-stick) them to a piece of paper. I, using the latest in high quality writing implements, penciled in the row letters down the left side and the block numbers across the top. Here, in 2011, it is still stuck! This really came in handy when I was picking out the fabrics for the triangles. Even with them, though, I still had one tri & one block of the same fabric. I wanted to stay true to Jane's layout, so they are there keeping each other company for eternity! Chart for Fabric Placement |
