I bought the Dear Jane CD early January and decided I would join in the group and try to use the 2010 weekly timeline. So far I am about a week behind as I went on holiday for a week but took the blocks I made and quilted them as per Lesley's instructions...well done Lesley. Anyway, here are the pictures from the first 4 weeks..haven't straightened them up as yet.....will get to that I'm sure :) |

YES..do join in you'll find it very rewarding. Once you start I'm sure you will quickly catch up, even if you don't it's not a problem you just need to work at your own pace. Life happens and sometimes we just don't get time to do all the sewing we would like.
I have only just finished wk 5 blocks which I will take a pic of and post in the appropriate wk from 2010 this afternoon.

Thanks Patti and Cre for your explanations sounds great and as you know I havenīt tried it, but the affect you are getting is amazing Patti.
This truly is a labour of love Patti and you are getting quicker you go girl. Elle |
Thanks Bev and Elle. I'm going to get back on it this afternoon.
Looking forward to seeing more pics of yours Bev! |
Thanks for all the info on water soluble thread, I knew thee must be a good reason for it. I really have to have a go at trapunto, might do a bit on the AOTH, now theres as idea.
Right back to stitching the batting, yep I am still stitching that down. Should finish it tonight though and spray baste the backing and pin it too. Then will think about the size of the border. I think I am going to do around 10" but mine will already have the scallops cut out, so will skip a job there. Elle |
Thats a good idea on the scallops Elle, but I was thinking that the way I a doing my border...the fabric may get pulled by the heavy thread work in the pebbles. I left quite a bit of extra fabric to quilt the actual scallops after I finish the tris. Hopefully it will lay flat...I'm crossing my fingers..I might be calling on you also (as our official best finger/eye crosser!)

Have just posted my wk 5 blocks and that RS6 really tried my patience...luckily I have a lot of that and the third try was passable :)
Have quilted about 6 blocks so far, not in any hurry for that as figure when our winter comes around would be good to do while sitting with the family. |
