I knew you had just gotten the camera..I'll have to look at one. I've always only had Cannon and this one is OLD! I bought it on ebay probably 4-5 yrs. ago for maybe 150 bucks. It has only 3.2 pixels! LOL! Its only slightly better than my ipod camera! A replacement is "on the list"...but you know how that is! LOL!

I got you beat - my old one has a whopping 1.2 mega-pixels! WooHoo! This one has 14.4 - a big improvement!

Did you all see the pics of an AOTH exhibited at the Wisconsin Expo? below is the link to the pics. Scroll down about half-way. She did a nifty setting for hers!

Very interesting - did you see the tail end of a blue ribbon on the second pic? It looks as if she didn't buy all her background in the beginning either. You tend to think that black is black, don't you.

THANKS for the link! that is how I was thinking of setting mine ;) I havent decided on borders or sashing yet. Hmmmm decisions

her background fabric is curious isnt it? I wonder if I could find a full size pic?

It does appear to have been the winner, what with that blue ribbon hanging on it. Maybe she used different blacks on the background intentionally? I have done that with WOW's and beiges, etc when I didn't have a large enough piece for what I wanted to do. It turned out ok...her quilt must have too to have that ribbon hanging on it! I like the way she used the hearts as her setting tris....kinda like Elle did on hers.

Kathy, stunning quilt.

And thanks for sharing the link with us. Wish I could see a full picture of it. It looks fabulous! Interesting how she set it on point without sashings, maybe that is why she used different blacks?? I think we,ll be able to see the full effect on a a while picture, maybe there is some secondary pattern forming by the different shades of blacks??

I googled, and got a link to a site with 2011 winners, pics of the major award winners, and it isn't there!

But I loved this parrot, and he only got third!

I think I see 2 tails so the ribbon must be more than just a 1st place - maybe a judge's choice or viewers' choice. I wonder if she used scraps as one of those off backgrounds looks sort of like a Greek key all-over design & the other 2 seem to be circular. Maybe she was using up scraps of black-on-black prints. AS far as black is black, I discovered I have 2 different solid blcks. Same brand & store, just bought at different times.
