I know that mices are very difficult to get rid of. I try to use humane traps where I can catch and release but those little buggers are too smart. I had popcorn in a flower pot on my desk to hold all of my pens and pencils. They loved the popcorn and made a nest in my desk drawer. I love mice but I was not a happy camper.

We try and try to teach them domesticated ways, but those rascally meeces seem immune to learning! they love the thrill of the hunt and chase! |
Give UP -- oh my, can't believe I would ever hear you say those words.....hehehe.....just like the post office motto.....neither high-speed, sewing room remake, weather, carpooling, nor dark of night will keep this quilter from her appointed project!

Nope...repairman says he is the final one to know and to be told the order was placed. Equipment just doesn't reach us yet. Ok, but in the meantime, we are doing a bit of a redo on sewing room, so I am not sewing right now. On top of that, I am the only one to play chauffeur to a very pg niece. Wish I had a center to show, but when I do...I will :XD: You think I'd give up, but you can't run me off that easily ;) |

I have been working on the big border this weekend. Here is a pic of what I have sewn/embroidered so far. All 4 borders are drawn out, but only this one is being worked on right now. It's one of the longer ones with the corner built in. The heart on the left is a corner. The border is 10" wide, but the heart motif is the same size as the corner heart in Aie's original design, only I fattened it up quite a bit and altered the bottom point into a lapped version, not 2 pointy points. The embroidery is the same as the curly wurlies that I used in the sashings - carried out a theme - aren't you proud of me? Sometimes I surprise myself! Struggled with getting the curly wurlies all going in the same direction, but gave up and am fixing them as I come to one that's wrong. The red violet heart is appliqued down, but the green one is only pinned. It's next to be sewn.

It looks great. I like what you did with the hearts. Your curly wurlys really take concentration. You're very talented.

 wow
that is going to be beautiful |
That is awesome, Kathy. I love what you've done with that border. Are there going to other colors of the hearts? I really like what you're doing much better than the original.

how pretty, I like the modifications you made. I have a difficult time with the pointy points also....I think I will be doing this also, thanks
