Hi Ladies, They are small and hard to needle turn, fuse them and buttonhole is fine.

I was thinking of doing the sloppy rose technique, yes I haven't done mine yet! Too much going on and haven't had time.

What I'm thinking is this:

Cut one flower out of the pattern, cut it into 4 sections. Now trace 1 section ( which would be 2 petals & 1 inner point) and add 1/8" seam allowance to the pattern. Now trace 4 on the fabric and cut out.

Now take a small running stitch exactly on the drawn line, all the way around the petal, when you come to the inner point, pull carefully to gather the edge of the petal to that point, take a small tacking stitch to hold, now continue on the 2nd half of the petal, gather, tack. Don't cut the thread.

Now you can go back around the flower and slip stitch it in place. When you add additional petals, you can either butt the edges or slightly overlap.

The center of the flower can be a circle like we have been doing or even a small yo-yo would be cute.

I think this will create a cute puff flower.

I've got Logan today, babysitting, so there is no time to sew this afternoon, but I will try to post a photo either tonight or in the am showing the process.

Hope this helps

Capucine, your blocks are very pretty. Don't trim until we're ready to piece.

Here is a link to the sloppy rose tute:

This will work for the smaller flowers if you want to needle turn. Treat 2 petals & 1 inner point as a unit, so there would be 4 units to the smaller flower on the inner border blocks.

Then either make a small circle to fill or a small yo-yo.

Well, I am bummed......I am not going to get to work on any of the blocks for the last 2 months until after my DD and family leave on 5/10. Too much to do last week and this week, and they arrive 5/4.

You all are doing such pretty and cool blocks, and I can't even pick colors for mine right now!!

They will still be there for when you can work on them. I won't be able to catch up on corner blocks for quite a bit yet but that is what is nice about this. You can pick up when you can and it will be there.

Just came visiting to see if anyone else finished anything this week. Since no one has, I don't feel sooooo far behind now!!! :-) I'll get caught up in May after my DD & family leave on the 10th. Excited to have them come :-) ....but I can't quilt while they're here!!! :-(
