Well here goes! I was pretty smug because I did the Dandy first. Then I did A Beauty using templates which I carefully cut out of cardstock making sure everything was 100%. Love my 1/4" foot. Everything was fine until I put the corner triangles on and wow my block is 8" not 8 1/2. I left the block untrimmed to show how off it was. Any ideas on what went wrong, Will probably redo it but wanted some input from your fine quilting minds. So here' A Dandy and then A Beauty (in the eyes of the beholder for sure!)

No words of wisdom here; I like your fabric choice and colors you have....also your comment" beauty" in the eyes of the beholder" which is what we all do in making any block pattern our own quilt block pattern. Which happens with Laura Aaron Hird block patterns in her books..each of us "create" our own stories and meanings to our own quilts following her guide lines. And what this QB pony group does so well, each block, in their own way, creating beautify blocks. Just my 2 cents worth. Have fun, enjoy the journey.

It took me a little bit of looking to see what was wrong. Your center block is supposed to be square , not on point. When you turn it you will see that you put your corners on to the wrong corners. Clear as mud? It takes a little bit of look'n to see it. I can see myself making this mistake.:o
