The FWS Pony Club Quilt-Along wk 43 Telephone & Virginia Discussion Page
Hi, I decided to post this thread early as I still have electric...don't know for how long...I've been busy doing alot of running around just trying to make sure I have everything needed for us during this storm...Making a big pot of stew today...I have every jug, jar,and pot filled with water...even the blender...I'll be filling the washer later today...The dunes in Point Pleasant Beachare just short of being breeched then the flooding begins in that area....I will try to do some cutting later today for these blocks...can't seem to concentrate on sewing....

Stay save, Honchey. We experienced that waiting and worry when hurricanes hit Texas while we were there. News media does tend to "add" more concern to make more news these days...may you find it so too...that it is mainly really the 'hot air' of media adding to the story. May the real thing be a lesser thing for all to face there.

Honchey--not sure if you still have power, but wanted to say I am thinking of you and all the others on the east coast.

Your in my prayers Anne! Keep safe!

My prayers and thoughts are with you Anne and everyone else who may be effected by this storm. Stay safe.

Hope everyone is safe. We're good here so far; high winds now, and higher still predicted for overnight. Had to run to Walmart for dog food this am--what a zoo!! It was really crowded at 9 am and there was no bread, little milk, and no bottled water. This is scarey and we're 100s of miles from the coast. It has been so dark all day; and rain--lots of rain some of it coming down sideways. Poor Patches! He's had his legs crossed because he really has to pee and won't go out (well I wouldn't want to pee outside in this either). DH finally held an umbrella over him so he could go. Poor DH now is soaked LOL.
Please stay safe everyone! |

Good Morning Ladies ... and I hope it is a Good one!
Honchey ... do hope that things weren't so bad for you, though from the TV last night, I am filled with fright. Looks like you prepared as best you could. I'm sure your mind is far from doing any sewing! QNSue ... ITA the media does create the sensation and fright around all things ... weather, wars, tusnamis, fires, etc. JanRN ... I think you just gave us our morning smile with Patches under the umbrella, and your DH getting soaked! Good Man that MrJanRN is!!! :) Yesterday I was thinking and reading some about Hurricane Hazel in 1954, and was wondering how this compared? From its devastation, so much good came, with flood control planning and installations all across the province. So far here, it's been a lot of wind and rain ... certainly nothing where I was frightened to the max and felt my home was going to blow away. Although at times like this, I wonder about the trees all around my home and hope they don't decide to topple. Now, while I don't think things were so bad ... I have to temper that knowing I have the shelter of the bush ... I may hear and see otherwise beyond!! Stay Safe, Honchey and JanRN! |
