PS how did ya get your design wall (aka table cloth) behind your cabinet? It looks like a great way to keep it up.

It's hard to tell because the pics are all sideways, but the top of the tablecloth is at the left side of the picture. I just stuck it in the wall with some pins. That dresser isn't flush against the wall so the tablecloth hangs behind it a little.

I haven't dediced on a sashing color yet. Looking at the blocks they are way more pinky-lavender than I would have liked. What can I do to counter that? Blue or green sashing, maybe? Or maybe just cream kona and move the pinky blocks around so they are spread more towards the outer edges? Not sure, but with that much work invested, I've gotta get that finished! It can't be a UFO.

SBG, That's exciting! It looks bright and cheerful. Is it because of lots of orange and pink? What are you deciding? To tone it down with a cool color, or keep it bright with a hot color? I figured you are going with a rectangle when I saw the blocks sideways...

LOL, we think so much alike! I hadn't seen your post when I wrote mine. :D Yes I want a rectangle and probably set on point like I have it, if that works out. Gotta do something about the pinkiness... Too much pink. And I followed Ms. Hird's colors believing she had worked out a good balance. Maybe not...

Whatever you decide, SBG, it will be the right choice. It is lovely pinned that way, a grey or black would make it pop, or a soft neutral would tone it down. I have not looked at mine since we finished...its waiting for the slashing and putting the blocks together.

Finishing my Wild Geese flying...another five blocks and its ready to put together in a king size quilt. I have couple UFOs I want to finish also, that should go quickly. Then maybe set together our current LH quilt in progress.
And the S&W started...neighbor might have that old age mind going thing I cannot spell this morning or someone is lying to her about us, so will try to finish her quilt and figure out a way to deliver it to her. Keep praying for an answer, hoping something will pop up. Someone told her that she was harassing me, and she believed them. Lord, I did everything I knew to make her feel comfortable in my sewing room and house. I could cry about it if it would help. I loved her company here...every minute of it. She was someone very special to talk to....work with...and learn from.

It was so nice having a woman to talk too; whatever will be, will be.

Dublb, I do hope you show us your idea of your favorite class to do sample...

You know, that's a good idea... the gray! I have a whole bolt of Dream Cotton in a pretty medium gray that might really set it off. Will try...

This is so sad. You should go to her and just have a talk and tell her exactly what you just told us. There's no reason to end the friendship that you both enjoyed. Hope you can talk.

I am waiting for some fabric from Connecting Threads to finish the final border on my Bonnie Hunter En Provence Mystery Quilt. I have several (like 9) quilts that are in flimsy stage. I really need to get them sandwiched and quilted. That is my goal for this year. I really miss not having something in the works, but I do have several (like QNS) that the blocks are completed, and need to be assembled - gads more flimsys! LOL

I decided that I want to learn ruler work. Connecting Threads had a beginner set for a good price, so I ordered it, then discovered that my Brother PQ1500S foot will not be available until next month. Oh well, the price was worth the wait. I also ordered a template for SITD that looks marvelous. The quilting foot fits into the slit in the template perfectly so you don't wander off the ditch (or side of ditch) as easily. I also decided to take a Ruler Work class on Craftsy which is also on sale. Wish me luck!

Also I ran into luck on Craig's List - a 4 foot sewing cabinet that the sewing machine fits into, with a drawer and 2 shelves for $50. It does not have a maker's name, but is very sturdily made. I ordered a Sew Steady Plastic Top that fit perfectly around my Baby Lock Machine. I also have a larger Koala Cabinet I purchased a few years ago for my PQ1500S for $300. So both machines sit into cabinets with the Sew Steady Tops surrounding them. I love it!!! I got both of these cabinets by watching Craig's List. I had the Baby Lock sitting on a folding plastic table before getting the new cabinet. I could not resist getting a photo for you all.

That looks so lovely, Jeanie. What a great find! They will never get you out of that room, now.

OH HUGGS Sue. I hope ya can talk to her & let her know how ya feel. It is sad that she thinks ya don't want her. A sad situation for both of ya.
I looove your sewing tables Jeanie! & I see a familiar quilt on the wall! :) Hmm I might get mine out & do some hand work on it again. It has been at leas a year sinci I worked on it.

Jeanie, the big window looks like it will give you a lot of daylight. That will be nice when you are picking out fabrics!
QNS, It's always uncomfortable when things go awry in a friendship. I hope you find a peaceful solution.
SBG, Did you try a medium blue? Maybe a steel-gray type blue, or the dusty blue from the 70's? Lately, gray seems to be used a lot on the modern style quilts with 'designer-brights' fabrics. I like the idea of gray though. Did you try brown tones yet? I don't think you can get away from the bright look. :-) :-p You will have to like it, as is. :-)

Yeah I think so... I will be auditioning several colors til I come up with the right look.

O, Jeanie, I love how you are setting up your sewing area and love the price too. It is a win win situation. And the clear Sew sew through sewing tops will be so nice. I need to re-order my small size for the Bernina 1230 Inspire machine. Broke the first one when my display panel fell on it and I replaced it with the large Sew Steady but it is too large unless I am quilting on a quilt which I have not done yet.

I have made several attempts to talk to the neighbor, cell phone calls, gone to see her and she was not home...at least, not answering the door. Her kids say she is alright. We took her a Valentine card...no response. So just waiting for her to stop by and visit, I hope she does. She is a very special person and I hope a friend yet...that she will stop by someday soon. I admire her so much!

Time will tell its story. Hope you all have a wonderful week. It is sixty degrees already this morning here...Irises are coming up, Spring is coming! It is so early, it is hard to believe it.
