QNS, I'm assuming that you have a rural water system and not your own well. We take for granted our "free" water...but digging a well is expensive. We had to drill a new one about 10 years ago.

Isn't it fun to have a group to sew with, Honchey? I've missed a sew day with my buddies for the past 2 months and anxious to get back together again. Night all.

We have discussed digging a well since we know where it was before; its on the rural water system and they are very nice people to work with. If they think they see the possibility of a leak, they call us...and help track it down if it is in the house with a leaky toilet or whatever. Dh forgets to turn of his hydrant and the bill increases like a blown up balloon. So we are both checking it multiple times a day.

Yesterday reminded me of the old Hee Haw song, "if it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all". Thank God we do not have to repeat our bad days the next day.

Getting into the Quilt Room settles my stress levels, and I was sewing this morning.

Those look perfect laid on your mat, but to be sure you should place a ruler on the top. I’ve heard mat measurements are not reliable, plus measuring from underneath isn’t as accurate as placing the ruler on top. Use your ruler to measure, rather than your mat.

I placed the 6.5" square on the mat and it's perfect. If I place the square ruler on top I just have to trim the threads and some edges.

I had over 200 HST all the same fabric that were gifted to me...cut offs from a project I suspect. I paired them with a bunch of waste triangles to make 2" cut HST's. I think this is what I'm going to do with them. This will make a nice sized lap quilt. (52 x 64) The basket tip squares will be scrappy like the 9P HST's. EQ is telling me I need 3 1/2 yards of the 9P framing...I can't believe I need that much although I do have enough fabric to do it. Gotta work tomorrow...time for bed!

Ok, I'd like to see what you have in mind to sew with the HST. What a treat to be gifted units already cut--200! nice!
Honchey, I think those would sew up great in a quilt top. Keep going untilll yooouuu fiiinishhh! :-)

Today at work I sewed on a Doug Leko pattern using Holly Taylors new fabric Once Upon a Memory. Lots of FG that measure 1 x 2 inches finished. Ready to put the blocks together tomorrow.
Hey it worked...used a smaller bitmap file. As I said earlier the HST's in the baskets will be scrappy like the ones in the framed blocks. Too lazy to fill in the fabrics! Like I mentioned earlier, I can't see how I could use 3 1/2 yards in the setting sashes. Each block uses 2 2 1/2 x 9 1/2 and 2 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch rectangles. Working on another design for a large queen sized quilt. I plan on using stash for it so a challenge to find just the right amount of fabric in the right color... LOL don't know where I could buy more fabric if I had to!
