June Billie my prayers are for Jessica. HUGGS to you too.

DM is still in the hospital. Her kidney function #s are still going up. They brought in a kidney specialist.
I guess what bothers me is my DM isn't old. Anyway I don't consider 18 years older than me to be old. She is only 73. It breaks my heart to see her so sick. I will stay the night again tonight. My DSis & I are taking turns spending the night. She did last night so it is my turn.

Prayers coming your way, Dublb. I am 74, so it strikes a chord with me;hope she gets better soon. It is not fun to be sick, no matter what age you are. I have found that prayers help. It is good of you and your sister to stay the night with her. I am sure she appreciates your efforts on her behalf.

This year on the Iowa Quilt Shop Hop, they are having three buses to run certain areas. Cedar Rapids, Corroll and Ames. Nothing down this way, which is so disappointing.

Sewbizgirl - that quilt is adorable, I'm sure the recipient will love it!

Thanks... gatorade tastes so salty to me. It makes me sick to my stomach. I got a fierce headache today so I took an ibuprophen to help with that. Then, as I was drinking all the gatorade, my blood pressure rose. So I took an old blood pressure pill that I don't use anymore. Later this evening I'll check the b.p. again. BUT... the worst is over! I'm absolutely starving. Can't wait to eat some real food tomorrow.

My daughter-in-law is from Ames! Her dad is in real estate there.

My mom passed away at only 66 years young! Except she seemed like she was in her 80s. She had had serious health problems her entire adult life. I am 60 now and just marvel at how different my life and health are than hers when she was 60. Praise God for blessing me! I wish my Mom had lived longer. I would sure love her company now.

They don't have bus ride shop hops here in NJ or even DE..I wish they did 'cause I'd be on one of them!..

So sorry to hear all the sad news..(((((hugs)))))) and prayers ..

I lost my DGM in 1980 and Mother in 1981 and still miss them. I feel their spirit with me so many times, that it helps remember them and think of them. However, the phone call I got on my cell the other day was not a good sign. I answered it to hear,
"Hello" from a voice I did not know.
"Hello" I replied.
"Whatayoudoin? "
"nutting. what are you doing?"
"Lying in bed"
"Who is this? I asked.
"this is your Mother" said the voice on the line
I don't think so, my Mother died in 1981, so better redial the number you were wanting to talk too. I dismissed the call.

OH Wow Sue! That can be a bit on the unnerving side! I am sure it did make you miss your DM!

My DM is home this evening! :)

sewbizgirl 05-13-2016 10:52 PM

Bev, good news that your mom is home... Now all of you can get some good rest.

Well they got me into the hospital at 9am, fasting and all ready to go. It was a day of WAITING, as I found out later that I was the LAST one on the roster for the day. My colon scan actually didn't happen until 4 pm! I spent the day starving and sleeping in the bed they gave me in the recovery room. I felt so bad for my poor son who was with me. I let him leave to run errands and come back when I was done. I'm so glad I didn't bring my husband! He would have made the poor, overworked staff miserable!

All went well... dr. found nothing significant and my tests run on Tues. all came back good too. So I think he's going to start looking at my small intestine next. But I wanted to thank you for the prayers and let you all know that I SURVIVED! (I'm such a baby.)

Looking forward to a normal day of sewing tomorrow!

QSM, that was a weird phone call, indeed. Probably just some poor confused woman on the other end, who had no idea how her mis-dial was going to affect you. I've gotten some weird calls and texts too, from mis-dials.
