Here are my 37 & 38 blocks. Wow did 38 have a lot of pieces! It's actually an easy block, especially if you're paper piecing. But the number of pieces really slowed me down.

Hello Ladies .... I Spy .... some pretty pretty blocks made, almost a year ago!! :)

To keep this thread going, here's my offering .......
#37 -- Flower Pot
and
#38 -- Four Winds
58/111

Oh how I wish I could get some better colours of my blocks during their kodak moments. (Gosh does anyone remember that saying anymore).

Can some tell me how to get these pics better?
Mine seem to be either bleached out or as in this case dark!

One of the advantages of being a late comer is to see the different effects the choices of color/scale make in the blocks. So very neat, all of you! JAGSD your little tiny ones amaze me!
QE from here the points looks so sharp-good job. The mottled green print in 38 adds an interesting look. In regards to pic taking, have you tried taking pics in a room where there is a lot of natural day light. Somewhere I read to have light falling over your left shoulder as well. Might eliminate the shadow from your body.

Happy Thanksgiving all.

I did try taking them outside for a few of the shots and didn't get much better luck. These have been downstairs on my design wall and I don't get any differnet pics with the lights on or off!!! Might try the next few upstairs .... or another round of them outside. Just convenient when I can shoot them as I get them done .... I'll give it another try!

BTW .. you must have eyes like an eagle to see the mottled green(or your monitor is giving a lot better pic for you than mine does ... it's kind of neat, olive-y green with some burgundy fleck and bits of white speckled in there. By chance, do you have any Jersey fabric? (I know wrong breed for you!) ... I'd like to get a bit for my PCQ!! Have the holsteins already.

And oh ... the pointy points ... the credit all goes to PPing for that, not moi! :)

Eagle eyes? No--just zoomed in to 200%!! Will check on my novelty fabrics, don't think I have any Jersey, but will look.

QuiltE 11-26-2011 02:45 PM

Now, why didn't I think of that!! duhhhhhhhhhhh!!! :)
I didn't really expect that you'd have Jerseys, though I know how hard it is to get cows, let alone different breeds, so thought you might be like me and just nab it when you saw it. Oh ... got milk cans, pails, etc. today! Hard decision on how much to snag of that one.

QuiltE, I scan my blocks into the computer. Thank goodness they're 6" blocks! I then clean them up (crop, adjust brightness) if needed. If you have MS Office, you have MS Picture Manager. It is found in the programs as Microsoft Office, then Microsoft Tools. Once you click on that, you'll see MS Picture Manager. Hope this helps.

One little technical difficulty .... I'd need a scanner! :)
Yes, I'm in the dark ages ..... still a laser printer, no colour, nor a scanner!!!! Maybe Santa will provide? :)
