Those aren't sewn yet are they Elle? I like it...I'm asking about if you've sewn it so I get an idea of the actual finished width..but you know I like the dark to make those Asians really pop!

Elle, I really like the black with those fabrics, it seems a natural choice! In fact, I don't think that much black will show, once it is sewn, also it appears to push the blocks forward and shows the detail! Looks like a winner to me! :)

It was great, thanks for asking. We went to South Carolina and spent time in Myrtle Beach, Charleston and Edisto Island. I even read a couple books. Although, I am still worn out from all the travel! During my lunch break I did select the fabrics for this weeks blocks, but didn't have time this evening to sew...I imagine, I will feel more rested by the weekend I will go sew crazy for hours on end. I have a swap to finish this weekend and another one, the Winter Jane Swap to start on too! :D

Thanks evryone for letting me know, I didnīt think I would like it but its looking good.

Patti, I only managed to sew one side of the blocks (before sewing machine gave up on me. They will be just 1/4" finished, so really tiny. The top and bottom strip is not sewen on thats why it looks bigger.

Holiday sound great Meredith. Travelling can be a killer though.
When I go to Gibraltar its just over 2 hours by car, so thats not bad.

i love seeing the different ways in which all of you 'see' the blocks. watching this grow is pretty amazing. how long do you all estimate the quilt will take?

Butterflyspain 09-22-2010 07:56 AM

Well going by our schedule it not due to be finished until I think May next year. However one lady has already finished, took just 7 months, her quilt has been shown on one of the threads already. We havenīt many more weeks of block making, however it does have to get put together and then quilted or vice versa depending on the method you choose.

i don't think i could ever that have that much patience. you must all be working other projects as well.

Butterflyspain 09-22-2010 09:29 AM

Yes most are doing other things, but you only need make one block a day. the schedule is 3 or 4 blocks a week and every 6th week we have free to make corrections or just do our own thing.
