Okay ladies finally after a correction my March block is ready! I printed my Lucky Clover templates out of EQ7 to the size I needed and all went just great!

Oh I am working on April's block....just finished cutting out the pieces and will work on it tomorrow.
Cataract surgery Wed so will be couple of days before I get it finished. It's a pretty one!

Hugs,
Betty

Here's mine. The oranges really do match better than the picture looks. I'm doing a second one with one large center block but for now here's the first one. Y seams and I may not be BFF's but I'm getting better at them.

Betty............WOW, your black & white combination block for March 2013 with a splash of color, really turned out gorgeous. I love how it turned out & am so glad that you were able to get it done before your eye surgery. I bet all of your blocks are going to look so nice together. You mentioned that you are starting the April block, does this mean you have picked the April block out? Now we will have to bug you until it's time to post it the first of April!! Take care of your eye & we will see you when you post next. Good LUCK!!

Trivia42..........your first block for the BOM 2013 project couldn't have turned out any nicer. The colors you chose to put together are wonderful & your Y seams look great. We will all be anxious to see your second block, with the solid center too. That is the way I chose to make my block. Keep up the good work & keep sharing your pictures with all of us here on the Quilting Board!!

Southern124...........Oh my Goodness, your first BOM block for 2013 has turned out lovely & we can hardly wait to see the others, as you get caught up. Will you be using this same color combination with your other blocks too? It will be a very pretty quilt. Keep up the wonderful work.

Is not it great when you get the hang of something and it opens doors for you to do so many more fun things with your fabrics.

I really like these two... the black and white plays well in these blocks. Good job!

This is my second finished block of the month. I tried paper piecing on the heart. Not too bad. I tried the January one and it took so much effort that I only did one section but I found that I had learned some about y seams. I have only been quilting a few months. I will add this to the other 25 squares that I have already done to practice different techniques. I would make a sampler quilt but it would be so ugly! Each one has different colors and they just don't seem to go together. But I have been having a great time learning the different techniques. I might graduate to a lap robe one of these days.

Sparkling Lake...........Your March 2013 BOM block has turned out wonderful. The color's & farbic's you chose to put together are stunning. For only quilting three month's, you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work & we will all be waiting to see your next block, when it's finished!!
:D :D :D :D

Sparkling Lake 03-14-2013 05:26 AM

Thank you Sulabug. I have been having great time learning. I actually started last fall but I have been like a crazy woman working almost every day trying different patterns. I don't shop much but now I am at fabric shops as often as I can. It is as if a magnet is pulling me there! I have always loved material and now I have a way to use it. Learning to quilt was on my list of things to do after I retired.

jolo 03-15-2013 06:32 AM

I sure wish it was. That would mean it is closer to when I can ride by motorcycle! I also wish it was April so that we could start on a new block. :(

KarenR 03-17-2013 01:58 PM

Blocks 1, 2 and 3 complete. I may learn to love the Patch of Roses fabric. It was a thrift store purchase and I knew I would use it eventually.

CajunBear 03-19-2013 10:50 AM

Jenniky, it's funny because yesterday my hubby discovered that I thought next Sunday was Easter! Man I wanted to get my dress altered and ready and I am just now seeing good. Didn't want to mess up that new dress for Easter! lol So I'll wait until later in the week to fix it! lol I have two weeks now before the 1st! lol
