I am doing Y seams!!!! I watched the tutorial at Jinny Beyer's website, watched it twice- and I am doing Y seams! I am doing a happy dance! Wasn't sure about this months block, but now I am.

Here is my March block. Sticking with the black/white theme I started in January. None of my blocks are measuring up exactly the same, but I will worry about that in December.

I chose to use the 12" pattern that does not include the set in seams... been there...done that... not a happy camper... [ATTACH=CONFIG]401563[/ATTACH]This is my second finished block of the month. I tried paper piecing on the heart. Not too bad. I tried the January one and it took so much effort that I only did one section but I found that I had learned some about y seams. I have only been quilting a few months. I will add this to the other 25 squares that I have already done to practice different techniques. I would make a sampler quilt but it would be so ugly! Each one has different colors and they just don't seem to go together. But I have been having a great time learning the different techniques. I might graduate to a lap robe one of these days.

Thank you Sulabug. I have been having great time learning. I actually started last fall but I have been like a crazy woman working almost every day trying different patterns. I don't shop much but now I am at fabric shops as often as I can. It is as if a magnet is pulling me there! I have always loved material and now I have a way to use it. Learning to quilt was on my list of things to do after I retired.

See u next month Betty. Hope ur cataract surgery does as well as mine did. No more glasses except for some over the counter reading lenses just because it feels more comfortable. lol. Have not started my blocks yet as have so much going on trying to finish some committments.
