I almost forgot today was Monday:D:D, must be all that jumping around...
DD gave me a box of fabric on the weekend so I could help her finish a project and it is all the colours I want to use in Sylvia, I don't think she will be getting any back:D:D:D Here are my next two blocks for this week |
Gorgeous Mirabelle!
I thought you raided her stash already? Didn't you see those fabrics or did she hide them before you came? |

Looking good Mirabelle!

I am interested in joining you. I started making blocks a few years ago. I only have about 21 done. I won't try to keep up because I don't have the time. I'll try to do 1 block a week. Having a group helps motivate one another. I wish I had come across this the 1st of the year. I'll post pics of the ones I have done later. I've looked at all of your beautiful blocks. Hope you don't mind me jumping in.

Welcome to the group TOOMANYUFO'S :) It's never too late to start! Looking forward to seeing your blocks!

|
Lovely blocks Karen! What's next on your list?
|
I'm going to make a basket from a pattern called Knotty Baskets by Aunties Two Patterns. My fabric is ready to start.
|
Oh great! One can never have enough baskets :D
|
Wow! I haven't check in on this thread in quite a while. All the blocks are BEAUTIFUL! Makes me want to get myself in gear and finish up mine. All my blocks are done and sewn into long strips. Just need to sew together horizontally. I used white for sashing as well as the background fabric. Now I wish I had used another color for the sashing. Oh well, I will love it when it is done. Just can't figure out how to quilt it. SITD would take as long as piecing the blocks! What are your plans for quilting?
|
AlvaStitcher, please show us your Sylvia! Mine only need borders and I still don't know how to quilt it. I thought about hand quilting but I'm not sure.

Here is picture of my blocks. They are connected in long rows but the long rows are not sewn together yet. They look wonky because they are laid out on the floor in the sewing room. No design wall yet. :) I love the way the bright colors pop on this quilt. I made most of the blocks using fabric from my stash. I think I bought only the background fabric. I had on every light possible in the room but it still looks shady. LOL

Can you find my avatar in the picture?
|
Yes I found your avatar :D :D
I love your blocks, they're bright and cheery! Love the Sunbonnet :) :) |
Alvastitcher, it is gorgeous!! Love all the colors!
|
Alvastitcher, your blocks are gorgeous, I love the bright color choices.
|
Thank you for the comments. I love the bright colors as well. Yellow being my favorite color. I did not think about the surrounding blocks when I chose fabric for the blocks. Color placement might not be the best but I will love it regardless. I think I exchanged a couple blocks for others. I know the Sunbonnet Sue is a replacement. I love Sunbonnet Sue. When I was very small I had a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. Never knew what happened to it. Probably loved it to death!
|
AlvaStitcher you blocks are beautiful.
I am taking a break for a little while, but will be back. Hopefully next month I will be able to catch up with you all. Life is just a little hectic for me right now. Anael this is one quilt that will be finished this year and I am hoping that you will hold me to it... |
That's ok Mirabelle, we will see you again when you're ready.
Finishing this year will be hard with 2 blocks a week. The quilt has 140 blocks, meaning 70 weeks :) But if you want to finish this year......you need another schedule :D :D |
Looks like I'm one week late!! Sorry!
