Returning to Sylvia, made a block last night, appliqué orange peel (D-9). Not sure when it fits in but at least it got me going. I have kept all the blocks on my calendar, just need to start moving forward. Had lots of travel that took me away from sewing machine. Have been working on UFOs and family members quilts when home. Thanks Anael for keeping us going.
|
You're welcome giquilt and welcome back! UFO's and family are important too :) Please post your blocks, whether they fit in or not, that doesn't matter. We love to see them!

I think I'm going to try to join in on the fun even tho I'm quite late in the process. It's not like this one will be completed by the end of this year. The last quilt I worked on here was the Farmer's Wife Sampler which got set aside within the last 10 blocks as my husband died in 2011. Fast forward 3+years later. I have that top finished w/a pieced border & almost on the quilt machine after finally settling into a new chapter in my life in a new place, etc.... Have another quilt started which is mostly on hold because the pattern has a few mistakes in it & I just haven't been enthused enuf to go round it & get er done. Anyway, In catching up on some other office stuff now that I've also had to replace my computer & learn how to navigate & do things I'm used to doing in different programs & formats, I've sat here long enuf to go thru this thread. Even got out my Sylvia's Bridal Sampler book which I've had since I started the FWS a few years back. Have written down the "assignments" & even tho I am also considering actually purchasing 4 kits this summer to get some quilts done this year for a change, I really enjoyed the journey, the time spent working on & sharing the making of the FWS blocks in this format. Onward to see if I 'm in tune w/my scrap bins again. Love all the blocks so far...

Welcome Aunt Jo. (I have a real life Aunt Jo too). Sounds like you have a busy quilt life ahead. Hope to see your FW when done!
|
Hi auntjo and welcome! We all work at our own pace so don't worry. Looks like you have a lot of plans for the near future :) Looking forward to seeing your finished FW!
|
We welcome you, auntjo!
|
Yes, welcome back giquilt and Aunt Jo! Mirabelle, love your blocks. Aunt Jo, some of us are so far behind with all of life going on, that you will probably pass us in the running! It's just fun to have the comraderie in a project like this. Will have to get some posted-I am progressing, just slowly.
|
welcome back giquilt and AuntJo, looking forward to seeing your blocks progress and would love to see your FWS AuntJo. I finished mine with the group and went on to make the Pony Club Sampler.. Please post photos

giquilt,
Love your blocks, wonderful selection of fabrics and nice box to keep your blocks in. Going to be a spectacular quilt. |

Here are my next two blocks for this week, Anael I didn't look at the number for the block just the name hahaha
Anyone who has made a complete Tumbler block quilt I salute you, whilst I didn't have a problem with the set in seams, I just thought it was a tedious block to make. |
Clever girl :D :D :D Your blocks are beautiful Mirabelle! Can't imagine doing a whole quilt with the tumbler blocks but I guess they're not this small!
|
All the blocks are beautiful! Will get some up when I get home from work. Love them all!
|
giquilt, your blocks are lovely, especially the little baskets.
|

If this works, here are my first weeks two blocks for SBS. And for Mirabelle the FWS top before I put it on the Tin Lizzie. Not only is this the 1st time I've tried paper piecing, I had to o about it w/my new computer set up - which was a disaster waiting to happen. Tho can't learn it f I don't use it. - right? My scanner program is different & wants to change sizes for me.. I grabbed the contact paper roll rather than the freezer paper... When I finally got it together with the right size scan & the freezer paper- it rolled itself around the roller in the bottom of the printer. Got to take he thing apart to dig I out. I may resew a couple seams on the Big T just because they didn't quite match up. Boy my keyboard doesn't want to work well in this format either...

Auntjo, your FW is gorgeous!! Please post pictures again when quilted!
I love your Sylvia blocks. |

Was glad to have something to keep my mind occupied today... we hired a SIL of friend to trim our cedars.... he brought his team.... they do it by hand...no power.... just couldn't watch.... anyway...DH is happy with the result so guess it's worth it in the end. |
AuntJo your FW quilt is beautiful, I love the outer border, thank you for sharing.
Thimblebug6000 your blocks are wonderful, love the blue and yellow combo |
