ha! I just saw the original date this was posted on the board...slight blonde moment!!!!! So I won't have to be diligent - will just have to set myself the challenge to do it. I bought the book a couple of years ago, and have always had a colour scheme in mind - will have to pull my finger out, purchase the fabric, and get sewing!!

The pictures of all of your blocks are beautiful and inspiring. This will definately be my 2015 project (with all the other little ones in between!!)

Anael 01-04-2015 11:27 PM

Welcome quilting jem! ! You can always join our group! Go ahead, purchase the fabric and show us your blocks! We will cheer you on along the way :)

Anael 01-05-2015 09:15 AM

Mirabelle, I totally forgot to mention your gorgeous blocks :o
I do understand why you substitute the appliqué ones!

thimblebug6000 01-05-2015 11:27 AM

Thanks for the new block listing Anael.... promise to get back to mine again soon, but have been doing Quiltville's mystery!

Anael 01-05-2015 12:10 PM

One block # is wrong, thanks Thimblebug for telling me!

Week 2 Mariner's Compass is block G 5 instead of G6!
:o:o

Today I had to send my furry girlfriend over the Rainbow Bridge. She was very sick, we tried everything but nothing worked. She was in such a bad shape I had to let her go.

sue z q 01-06-2015 07:01 AM

So sorry about your kitty. How sweet she looks.

thimblebug6000 01-06-2015 09:37 AM

Anael, sorry you lost your good friend.

carriem 01-06-2015 09:54 AM

Anael--sorry to hear about your cat. Hugs!

Sophie2 01-06-2015 10:21 AM

It is so very hard to let them go. Hugs.

mirabelle 01-07-2015 01:57 PM

:hug: So sad to hear Anael, she will always have a place in your heart

laurafet 01-12-2015 04:52 PM

I've decided that I will make two smaller quilts with the blocks that I have. I've finished the top of the first one and will piece a backing soon. Here was the final block that I made for the center of this quilt top.

laurafet 02-04-2015 07:13 PM

So, so pretty Thimblebug. I love the way you framed out each block with alternating fabrics. Sets each one out individually. I am soooo far behind- had 2 commissioned quilts to be done before Christmas, then my dad had open heart surgery in the middle of that, the holidays, and the topper. I have a new, 2nd grandson!! After the baby quilts are done I WILL return to SBS! Miss all of you!

Anael 02-05-2015 02:33 AM

Love your quilt Thimblebug!!! The appliqué block is great! I tossed mine :D :D
I'll miss you here!

Laurafet, congrats on your grandson. Hope all is well with your family. Will see you here when you're ready :)

thimblebug6000 02-05-2015 08:57 AM

I still have a pile of the blocks to sash for the other smaller quilt, and will keep checking back in here. I love looking at what everyone does with the same patterns. Thanks for all your efforts at keeping this project going.

No pictures. No new blocks for months it seems since I brought my Mom out at Thanksgiving & starting the Bonnie Hunter Grand Illusion Mystery back in November. We're leaving for a 3 week vacation in Italy tomorrow. So there won't be any from here for awhile. Look forward to getting back into the swing of things after I take my Mom home in April.

More in month...

laurafet 02-28-2015 05:38 AM

I want to go with you! Have a fabulous time AuntJo!

Anael 02-28-2015 05:45 AM

Oh auntjo, you're on your way already!! Have lots of fun and show us some pictures when you're back!

sue z q 03-03-2015 08:44 AM

Question about D10; does the color picture match the diagram in your book? Which way did you do it?

:D :D now that you mention it sue z q, I see I did mine wrong back then. Never noticed that! It's up to you how you want to do it, it's your block!
Here's mine, looks like I took the easy way out :D :D

DottyD 03-03-2015 09:44 AM

Hello - well spotted - yes the picture isn't the same as the diagram - they should be "flying geese" - not just green rectangles. Must remember that when I do that block.

sue z q 03-03-2015 08:27 PM

Thanks for the replies. I was wanting to move along, so I did it with the rectangles; only problem, somehow I have misplaced the center section. Hope it shows up.

Just wanted to thank you Anael for hosting this BOW, I faltered a few times but got there in the end with your encouragement. Here is my finished Sylvia all quilted and bound and it is huge. I had to hang it on the clothes line for a photo.

Anael 03-15-2015 12:21 AM

Mirabelle, your Sylvia is stunning ! ! ! ! ! Doesn't it feel great to have finished this one?
I hope the other ladies will be inspired to finish their Sylvia too!

DottyD 03-15-2015 12:59 AM

WOW - that is beautiful Mirabelle - Congratulations !!

The colours are lovely and you must feel so good to have reached
the end of the journey.
What are you planning next ?

Regards,
Dot on Mother's Day here in the UK.

thimblebug6000 03-15-2015 07:24 AM

mirabelle, I saw your picture on the other posting, so glad you put it here too! I'm stalled at the moment but do have 1/2 of the blocks made into a top and will get back to them once I finish my penquin quilt.

laurafet 03-15-2015 05:32 PM

Beautiful Mirabelle!! Anael, how long will you keep the thread open for those of us dragging our feet on completion? I would love to see everyone's!

Anael 03-15-2015 11:36 PM

As long as it takes Laurafet :) There are still some assignments to be posted and blocks to be shown :) :) I hope a few of you will make it to the finish!

Karen G 03-16-2015 04:05 AM

Beautiful!!

Blue Bell 03-16-2015 10:50 AM

Mirabelle,
Your quilt is awesome. Love your colors. Like how you used a neutral background and yellow cornerstones. I may rethink by Farmers Wife Sampler, only made 50 blocks and now have to put it together.

At retreat this past weekend I sashed the last 54 of my blocks into the 2nd smallish quilt top. Sorry I didn't take the time to press it but it will be enjoying it's calming time for a little while in my stack of tops to be quilted....by me....

Blue Bell 04-14-2015 06:17 PM

Your quilt is stunning. Like the yellow sashing and all the BLUES.

tron80 04-14-2015 10:52 PM

A beauty! Congrats. I've done only 16 blocks....

DottyD 04-14-2015 11:33 PM

Congratulations - a stunning and very fresh looking quilt. What width sashing did you use please ?
Also have you had any thoughts on how you will quilt it --- individual blocks or an all over design ?

Ditto! Karen, I'm like you-things just keep coming up. I'm seriously thinking of piecing together the ones I have complete. It will still be a good size. Love yours Thimblebug!
