Wow auntjo, stunning blocks!!! And an amazing border design!!! You're very talented!
Teen - I too will sign up for your therapy class for those who survived the New Mexico block. PTSDNM, maybe? Mine is sitting in my little pile of blocks to be redone, so it is holding me up. Aunt Jo, yours looks great, as do your other blocks. I spy your finished blocks on your design wall; it's going to be an awesome quilt.
Aunt Jo, your blocks are gorgeous. And, the quilting design on the quilt on the long arm is awesome. I can't wait to see it finished. Please post photos when your done.

Love your E2, Auntjo. The gray & yellow look so good together. I am slowly but surely getting the sashing on mine. I went with a neutral tan for the cornerstones - every other color just didn't seem right since I have so many colors in this. I am making this for our king size bed, looks like it will fit really well.

Donna Pea, I love your neutral tan. It makes the block look like they float on the quilt. It is going to be stunning when your done.
Donna Pea, Love your selection for the sashing and cornerstones. It is going to be a beautiful quilt.
Auntjo....pretty blocks....love the yellow /gray...fabrics are so cute...
Donna... Your tan cornerstones really help balance the scrappy colors in your quilt top. I would have never thought of using that color. Looks very soothing and warm even with the scrappy blocks. Wonderful eye!! |

All the blocks from the book are now complete. If I want to do a 11 x 13 layout will need to make 4 more. Think I found the fabric for the borders/outer block sashing w/the rust tho will need to get a lighter gray for the inner border. Last 2 blocks I6 Laurel Wreath, and L6 Rolling Star

you all are making great progress! I finally got mine bound and it was bigger than I remember lol!
auntjo, your blocks look great. Your quilt will be beautiful.
Macybaby, I remember seeing your blocks, will have to search for your quilt.
Auntjo....fantastic quilt top!! Love it!!! Congratulations on finishing.. I think Dotty ended up doing the same thing a chose blocks from other samplers, too, though not sure which sampler...maybe Farmers Wife or Dear Jane... Regardless, so,excited for you...
Wow ladies!!!! Such beautiful blocks!!
Auntjo, congrats on finishing, even if you need a few blocks more :) You made it!!! DonnaPea, great fabric choices for sashings and corner stones! The blocks really stand out this way. Macy, all finished!! Great job! Now we need to see your Sylvia once more ;) |
I haven't taken a picture of the finished quilt yet. I did take it to the guild meeting to show off - that is what motivated me to get it bound (finally!)
Sometimes you just need a gentle push :D :D
Most of the time I need a kick in my behind! |
Looking good folks...Congrats on getting so far!
:wave::wave::wave: OK :)
Looks beautiful, Auntjo! Congrats on those final 2 blocks, which look great. Looking forward to seeing your 4 "outside" blocks & seeing this come together. I am still sashing away here, am planning a garnet or other deep, deep red for the border. Over halfway on the sashing & putting rows together, hope to hit it real hard this weekend.

Found my last four blocks frm http://www.quilterscache.com/mhohn in the free block pattern sections. I just went to the 6" block section and picked what I wanted out of their selection. Of course I neglected to notice that "The Attraction Block" was clearly labeled a 5" block and didn't notice it was too small til I had cut out relatively close to needed sizes for the paper piecing pattern - tried to make it work switching it up mid cutting, but ended up taking it all apart and remaking the pattern to 6". The blocks I picked are called Invitation to the Devil, Iowa Star, The Attraction Block, and Triangle Trails. Now to see if the idea of a thin grey borders on each block then the rust sashings & outer border will give the desired effect...

Great job Aunt Jo. Your blocks look beautiful

That Iowa Star is especially gorgeous !!!
auntjo, you are coming down the homestretch when I hear the words..."sashings" and "borders"! WTG
Great blocks auntjo!! Can't wait to see how your sashings and borders work out! Congrats on finishing all the blocks!!
Beautiful blocks, Auntjo. They look as though they'll coordinate well with the other SBS blocks.
