Oooohh....very pretty. Sleep well!
Oh Anael, that is gorgeous! I like it.
Wow! I don't know what else to say Anael. I have been following here and seeing all of your phenomenal photography. It's incredible. do you ever sell any of it? I would love to have some on my walls. Love your attention to detail. Love seeing everyone's SBS's and other projects too. I just don't have the space to work on anything at all, living with my son and grandson. It's depressing, but... you all keep me inspired.
Awww thank you so much Laurafet! No I don't sell anything, never thought about selling it.
PM me, we can talk about this. |
Donna Pea & Aunt Jo. Congrats on your finished tops. I’m sure the quilting will be beautiful. Still traveling and will return to Sylvia in mid-November after Gbaby #8 is born. Giquilt

Anael, thanks for posting your photographs........it's so nice to help us all remember the "wonder and beauty of God's creations".
Love that brim! One would never think a mushroom to be so pretty. All are fantastic!
Ditto what Nora said... Beautiful pictures...
In a word...Mindfullness.
Awwww thank you so very much!!
I just posted more in my album. They're from today's ride. I went to a tree park (Arboretum).
I found another stunning Sylvia here on the QB.
https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictur...s-t210427.html Comment #28. The comments on this thread do not show up for me. (IDK why??) But, the pictures do. |
Okay, go figure, now they do show up. Very very weird.
Oh yes, that's a beauty!!! Those colors, just wonderful!
Definitely a beautiful SBS. That thread is amazing, Judith. The quilts shared are some of the most beautiful I have seen. Amazing talent. I've flipped through that thread a bunch of times already....breathtaking quilts shown... Geesh...
First time I've seen that thread, thanks for pointing it out, Judith.
Ladies, you should all add one of your quilts to the thread. Your quilts are amazing. And, the stories are inspiring. I'm thinking of adding my Spring Churn Dash. Yes it is a simpler design. But, I just truly love how it came out and the how the different sizes came out to play together. Maybe we'll inspire someone else with our stories.
Your welcome Oksewglad. It is an older thread. And, I missed it as well when It came out. But, I was also a newish quilter back then. I might have been intimidated by all the quilts posted. Now, I know if I truly want to make something I can. Especially with all the inspiration and talent here on the Quiltboard to draw from or to ask for help from. |
Oh Judith, I've seen the quilts shown in that thread. Mine don't belong there, all quilts shown are really stunning masterpieces!
What a lovely thing to say, Judith. Thank you! And, yes, you should post your churndash quilt. I love that quilt. I was thinking of posting my GTSB quilt though it comes no where near the level of stunningness of quilts posted...
Anael...your quilts are definitely on par with the others. Don't short change your talent and what you produce, girl!! |
Well, thank you but you need to tell that yourself too!!! Go and post your GTSB and the matching pillow!!!! They're both beautiful!
I posted GTSB and my SBS... Macybaby needs to post her Catch me if you Can quilt but all of her quilts (I love her Small World, too) are stunning....this is just the one that I love the most..lol!!
I love your Fairyland quilts!!! Your SBS is amazing, too!! So is your GW and LTG.. Geesh....just post them all...lol!! |
I was hesitant about posting my Big Mini...and then when I saw it downloading, I thought...well this is really a nice piece of work! So all you that are hesitating...don't! Go ahead and show those beauties.

Ladies, Happy New Year. I hope to see some Sylvia blocks :) :)

Hi everyone!!! I've made two more SBS blocks. I've kinda lost my sewing mojo, so I've been reading the Elm Creek novels a bit. That got me fired up enough to make two more. :) The A-10 block with all those Y-seams was a real challenge for me; actually ended up making it twice. I think the second one came out okay.
J-4 A-10 My 2019 goal is to make at least 70 blocks total. Hopefully I can do it!!! |
Nicely done, NZ. Sew more!
Beautiful NZ.....I remember A10 well. You did great.... Good luck with your goal this year. You can do it.
Great job NZ. I think your blocks are looking great. I really enjoyed those books.
Looks great! Glad to hear you are getting back to SBS. I really enjoyed making the blocks. I skipped those requiring applique.
Well done!! So happy you're back to sewing and SBS.

No Sylvia blocks to go, & absolutely no progress on putting her together since last post - a couple months?? But have been busy. Finally completed the quilting on my 13yo Gd's Christmas present quilt. I had to bring it home anyway because I'm putting it in our Guild show this next week in Folsom, CA. But I am quite happy with how it turned out. Then I needed to design a baby quilt to go w/my nephews wedding quilt (which is already almost 2 yrs late) which is also going in this weeks show - then in the mail - along w/the welcome quilt for the new baby expected in May. Then, an old friend of my now S31 is expecting her first in a month now - before her wedding, but... so had to come up with another quilt. The pattern I picked I just turned into 2 quilts - so now I have an extra. Pics attached... Have hardly even started on this winters Bonnie Hunter quilt which was finished by quite a few back at the beginning of January.. but when my sister was out in November, she finally actually hand picked from my stash the colors that she felt would work in her quilt - which is actually going to be using the Bonnie pattern from several years ago "Celtic Solstice" - so am getting ready to start that one in earnest. Pics attached

Auntjo....your quilting is exemplary. Truly, stunning. I love the first pic of the modern quilt but the second one is gorgeous, too. Sylvia will be there when you get to it. Good to hear from you!!!

Thank you so much - it is really out of my comfort zone - or at least was... I'm happy with this one. The 2nd pic is actually the back of the 1st. |
Wow!!!!!!!!!!! That's stunning!!!
Like Teen said, Sylvia will be there! And so will we :) |
So my dear Bridals, how are you all doing? No blocks to show?

I finally finished my Sylvia earlier today. With the encouragement and friendship of many people on this thread, I started making blocks in February of 2018, finished them in September, and then started hand quilting it (my favorite way to make quilts). So a little over 15 months from start to finish. Many thanks to all of you for the good suggestions and encouragement. I was going through some hard things personally last year, and Sylvia & this thread was a great diversion for me - and now I have a beautiful (to me) quilt to enjoy in our room.
Your quilt is beautiful. Like the light colored background. Makes the blocks pop.
