What HGTV BOM? Do they have a quilting show on TV again?

Oh dear Karenpatrick, I hope not, at least not with our BOM blocks The HGTV Message Board is doing a BOM every year, this is the second year I'm participating. It's a lot of fun (and a lot of work!), theme this year: make it your own. Here's the link but you have to be a member to see the pictures. http://boards.hgtv.com/eve/forums/a/...2/m/7393986167

I found the 4 -inch blocks to be a LOT harder than the 10-inch. Such teeny pieces and wee little seams! I have Carolyn McCormick's Roaring 20s book as well and it has many tiny 4-inch patterns with miniscule triangular pieces -- I'm afraid to even try them yet!

I made a practice 4in square of the first block. I didn't really enjoy working with all the small pieces. The block turned out fine but Im thinking I will try working with the larger pieced blocks instead of my plan to make the 4 inch. I'm thinking it might actually be easier for me to work with the larger blocks. But those little blocks look so darn cute.. LOL

I may have made a mistake when I signed up for this sew-along. It looks like it's going to be the end of the month before I even get to start on the first block. We will be gone Labor Day weekend, are having new floors installed in the living room, dining room, family room, hall and one bathroom on the 6th and 7th and are leaving for California on the 9th until the 16. When I get back from Cal. will need to clean the house from top to bottom ater all the sanding and saw dust accumulation of the new floors. What was I thinking?

I got my first block together yesterday, but don't have enough contrast so I guess I will have to go shopping and get a lighter background fabric...bummer. I will post it on the 3rd so you can see, but know I am re-doing it.

Well, I must be to "nerd" of the bunch here...I've been working on the 4" blocks and love how they're turning out! I will make a small quilt with these intricate little buggers! Will be gone for the weekend however, so will post a picture on Tuesday when we get back home. Have a happy Labor Day weekend everyone!

Will there be a separate picture thread? Or do we post our pics here?
