    I'm back
Ok for all you newbies to paper piecing, here is how I do it, you might find it useful, you may not, but I will share anyway
I color my paper, then I mark the numbers in bold so I am not searching for which piece is next, and it is a lot easier when it is in your own handwriting, you recognise it quicker. Then I take the time to measure each piece, write it down and then cut accordingly, I don't cut with wild abandon but I am generous with my amounts, by about 1/2 inch. Not a lot of wastage.
It is a lot less confusing for me if I have all the pieces cut and laid out before me
I hope this has helped, now I am going to cut my pieces

Hello all! Lots of neat tips and ideas. I thought I'd share my tip in case someone is like me here lol. I never had success with cutting triangles and points with a template for PP..it seems like you have to think more and be more precise when placing it on the paper and check to make sure it fits and the point is always giving me toruble. I have decided long ago that squares and rectangles is all I need to cut! I measure with a ruler every piece across the longest and widest parts and cut a a square/rectangle to that measurement plus 1/2 to 3/4". Works for me every time. And yes, there is more waste but I do a lot of crumbs and miniature piecing that they are not really waste to me

Anael .... why are you making 4 mirrored copies? Are you mirroring 3 of the hexes for the block?

I make 6 to sew to and 1 to cut to make templates. I don't mirror any of them. The one I cut has writing on it so I know which way is "up".

BUT .. having just finished the "Log Cabin Cones" block I will say that I wish I HAD mirrored 3 of the blocks. Look at the sample of the block closely where the log cabin portion meets the neighboring block. Blue meets orange all the way around. After I made my block I was thinking it would have looked so much better if blue met blue for two blades, then orange met orange ... and so on. So for this block I WOULD suggest 3 mirrored copies.

Ok, I am totally going out of my comfort zone to try this. I have downloaded all blocks so far and printed out the Loosy Goosy one. Now off to the stash to pick fabric.

Hi Everyone! I love paper piecing and when I saw this BOM today I decided to join in the fun! My two young Grandchildren will be going to school the week we start this so I then will have the free time to get back into my studio and begin sewing!! I am printing out all of the blocks. Taking time since we need six copies for each! Luckily I have paper piecing paper on hand. I will be shopping from my stash!
