Those red clips are my go to for almost everything unless I use glue. I have 20 and they get counted when I stop using them so that none of them go astray! I think they are a good investment.
i've picked up a few FQ's for the red/white/black I'm thinking of using. I think I will try one block today to see if the color way will work...not like I have anything else to do! I haven't had an entire day in the sewing room for a week and I'm in withdrawal.

Note to self: investigate red clips. Wait for postings before attempting paper piecing block one. Continue to sew on the Bernina 550 to learn the new machine, remembering it does not stop when one yells "Whoa!" It does have the foot pedal and slow speed...thank goodness! Trial and error, I might just learn the 'how' of it.

QNS--"red clips" are made by Clover and they are called "binding clips". You can a package of 10ct. or 50ct. I bought 10 to see if I like them and so far have been able to get by with that many, but have been watching for the 50 to go on sale. I heard you can use the Joann's/Hancock coupons on them, but just don't go to those stores too often....

Thanks ladies. I read the directions more closely and they suggested removing the paper before sewing and I did and it came out great. I did pin, pin, pin. I didn't add the four corners because I am going out today and hoping to find a batik fabric that I can use for all of the corners. Wish me luck!!

Here is my fabrics. Most of them are from my stash. I did purchase a pack of 5" Moda Marbles Citrus squares from the LQS rather than ordering them online to see how the colors "worked". I am still contemplating and looking for the background fabric. I am working feverishly to finish my Prairie Chicken quilt before I start Spiking.

I haven't done any paper piecing for awhile...was hooked for a while....so I think I'll give this a try. I like everyone's fabric selections so far....so many different choices. I'll post a picture of my selections once I get home and check out my stash.

Is anyone else having a problem deciding on their fabric? I made my selection based on color ideas given, made 1 PP template and hated it. Changed my fabric selection, made 1 PP template and hated it. Now I think I will wait and see Block 1 photos posted and start again.
