gramquilter2 I acquired my fabric from DD's stash and am so happy with it, I have my blocks on my design wall and can't wait to share with everyone. I think it is just deciding on what colours you really like and then adding to them as you go along. Good luck

    ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhh
    What Sweet Eye Candy!!!!!!!!

Honchey and JanRN ... yes, remember the days when JanRN detested PPing! And now look at her! hhmmmm come to think of it, I was like that only a year before her!!

Red Clippy Users ... now you have me re-thinking about their potential!! Just might have to try a small pack, as CarrieM did, just to give them a fair chance to convince me.

NewbiePP'ers ... Take note, how we can all come to love what we never thought was possible!

MiraBsDD ... speak, and Mommy Dearest will surely deliver! Heck, just give her the fabric and let her cut it out for you!

Caroline your colors are bright and beautiful. I bet the blocks will look GREAT. I started my second block and I'm not crazy about the color of Batiks I used. I went to Joann's for a few more batiks but even with their 30% off they are more expensive then I could have paid for online and with even much more choices!!! I think from now on when I need Batiks I'll shop online.

I got fabrics for block #2 chosen and cut out this afternoon...might get back to the clubhouse to sew them, but right now the sun is shining and very hot where I sit, so it is break time.

QE--good to see you made it home again!

I can remove the pin and sew the seams removing the clips as I reach them. I don't have any trouble with my machine sewing thru all the layers (except if I've had to use scotch tape for some reason--machine skips on tape).

As an aside, I know someone will "yell" at me for spending the money on the red binding clips and not going to the dollar store and getting stationery clips. For me, the red clips are worth it: they have a flat side so the seam rides flat thru the machine and slide right off as you get to them without having the section pull out of the machine. I do a lot of paper piecing so the extra cost was worth it. If any one is interested, I got 50 of them on Amazon for under $20.00. (Sorry if I sound defensive but on another thread there was a lot of arguing about the cost and benefits LOL).
I don't know what the red binding clips are (so I can't yell at you!). If you think of it possibly you could take a picture and post when you post a picture of your block.

Edit: never mind, I didn't read far enough. If they're made by Clover I'm sure I can find them on-line to take a look. Thanks!

I made block one today...took me all day even with Mirabelle's excellent help. I was a chunker but found this easier until I got to the corners. I just could'nt get the piece to cover what it needed to so I cut larger pieces and had more waste but reverses on triangles just befuddle me!!! My block is 1/2 inch shy on the 14 side. That works as long as the rest if them don't change sizes. Now back to what I was supposed to be doing today.

Lots of chatter going on. I had a day at Jury Duty, sat all day and they did not call a panel. Very boring day!

Nice fabric Caroline, that is going to be so bright and cheerful!

Welcome Monstookie, looking forward to seeing what fabrics you come up with.

The perfect MommyDearest shows her true colours, yet again.
Gosh, that'd be such a perfect screen name!

Of course, your payment no doubt will be a dash to HER stash!!!!!!!!!!

(and yes, now I am gone-zo!)

QuiltE wasn't that the name of a movie 'Mommy Dearest" on the life of Joan Crawford I think... Her daughter didn't think she was such a nice mommy
