I just went to my neighbor. She told me the quilt I made her hubby will cover the coffin during the funeral ceremony. He had told her he would like that. She asked if I was ok with that. I had a hard time not to cry and told her I'm very honored. So now I'm in tears - again.

Oh Anael, I am so sorry for your loss.

MacyBaby, it seems that you not mounting your quilt yet turned into a blessing in disguise. I hope that your DF will take comfort in the quilt you are making and have a speedy recovery.

Teen, those are some great buys. It's sweet that your DH is so supportive. My DH would not set foot in a quilt store. But, he doesn't begrudge me my purchase. So, no matter, I feel blessed. I know you look forward to heading home.

I have finished binding off all 4 quilts that have come home from the LA'r. So will be working of finishing up Swap blocks for a couple different swaps here on the board.

Anael, I don't think I will do all those blocks. Although I do like them. I am not a fan of PP. But, years ago here on the board I was part of a "Wonky House Block" Swap. And, I would like to add in a few of those along with others to make those blocks into a quilt.

    Thank you Judith.

I started the Sulky Village this afternoon. I know, I know..........I was supposed to finish a few UFO's but hey, life's too short to not have fun, right?
So here's the start of block 1.

Anael - So touching that your quilt will be on the casket at the funeral. Sounds like it meant a lot to your neighbor, and this is a good reminder to us all to show love to those around us while we have the opportunity. You're right - that is a true honor.

And I love your cute little star blocks! You always have the happiest fabric. Is there a lot of fabric available in your country, or do you purchase this internationally through the internet?

Macybaby - I think I know the pattern you are referring to. I've seen pictures of it, and will be interested to see your version of it.

Teen - safe travels to you, and have lots of fun with your new project. It will be interesting to see it progress as well. Do you think you'll go as fast with it as you did with Sylvia? I think you set a world record with the SBS.

    Thank you DonnaPea!

I order about 95% or more of my fabrics in the USA!! Like the starry fabric, I ordered that for a very special quilt I made a few years ago. I used it as the backing. Here's the link to that thread: Julian's Dream

Hello from Provo, Utah!!! A little over half-way home....Tomorrow will be a long day but at least it's 80mph. Lol! Love Utah speed limits...

Anael....so sweet that he wanted your quilt over his casket. I would have been a mess so I totally get the emotional response. I love this and, obviously, you meant a great deal to him. Such a lovely thing for you in your memory book of him.

I'm so envious.....I want to start the Sulky too!!!! But, alas, I need to stay focused. We'll be heading back to Idaho in 6 weeks so lots to do before.

Donna....my Baltimore album quilt will be on-going. My plan is to complete, at least, one block a month but, I know me well enough that I will likely hustle through this project too. Lol! Once I start, I cannot wait to see the results. There are 25 blocks. My avatar is one of the blocks I did a pattern test on and made a pillow. Took me 2 weeks to do, including FMQ. The blocks are 16inch. So, big quilt, and all applique. Plus, I'll be doing trapunto so that will add time, too. I plan to FMQ it myself. I should have a LA by the time this is done. We'll see. My SBS will be sent to LA by end of month (fingers crossed).

I made a label for the quilt with "know we are thinking of you" on it. I made it 8"x12" and brought it to work with me today and lots of coworkers have been stopping in to sign it. There are a few people that want to sign but they can't get up here today, so I told them they can stop early Friday and sign the completed quilt before we give it to him.

Lovely idea, Macybaby! He'll be so touched and moved by the love you all have for him.

That's a great idea Cathy! I'm sure he'll love his quilt. Hopefully he will recover soon!
