Simpler???? Washboards? Getting water from the stream? Outhouses? Making everything you wore? Walking a mile to school? No phone? Heating by a fireplace? No car? I bet a lot of people in that day would rather be HERE! :)

I watch Little House and The waltons most days. I did not watch Little House much the first time around, but did enjoy the Waltons every week. Now it is kind of like seeing old friends. Take care.

I watch Little House and the Waltons on Hallmark. DH and I went on a drive down the skyline drive one fall. We ended up in the town they called Waltons Mountain. The real name is Skylar Virgina. They were having a reunion of the shows cast. Kami Cotler was there and Judy Norton. We went to Ike Godsey's Store and the school house. The Walton's Homestead, real name Hamner, is a small little yellow house practically on the road. Jim Bob still lives there. It is a very quaint village off the beaten path.

I read the books and loved them, I was a Mother of three when I read them.
My 8 YO Grandson just finished reading all the books, he loved them.

We don't look at TV here, at least not now-a-days TV, but we love our Waltons and Little House DVDs. Also we just got 2 I love Lucy seasons, a new favorite for when homeschool is out for the day.

We never missed an episode of The Waltons when it was only. Those types of shows is about all we watched when our kids were growing up. I have to be in a certain mood or frame of mind to watch most old shows.
I loved the Highway to Heaven shows, loved Micheal Landon and Victor French. They were wonderful actors, so easy to forget their roles weren't real.

Michael Landon was one of the best things that ever happened to television.
Loved him- so sad that he died young :(
He acted in and created some wonderful shows.
