I don't watch the show anymore, but used to all the time. The books are great too.

Unfortunately it was filmed in the back lot of a Los Angeles studio where chaparral and live oak grow. I can tell you, it did NOT look like that where the Ingall's lived. How do I know? I grew up about 30 miles from Walnut Grove, Minnesota, where they lived for a time.

If you ever get to southern Minnesota, check out the museum there.

My favorite episode was Nellie and Laura in the mud, fighting over Almonzo.

Yes, well said! My thoughts exactly. And yes, we watch Gunsmoke every day, both episodes. Jame Arness was just perfect in that part. Festus was such a kick, loved the interplay between he and Doc.

We don't get that unless I just don't know when. I love that show, no gruesome murders or such. Portland's Spring quilt show had an exhibit of Laura's quilts a few years back. Very simple, very plain but it was fun seeing them to get a different aspect of her life.

My favorite is the one where Pa makes the table and he wants to leave a legacy. It starts at an auction in the 1980's.

Don't see the show much anymore, but I loved it when it was on. The books were my very FAV ones growing up, and Little Women etc
Think I was born in the wrong century ! Love CW and 1800's quilts the most too :)

I read all the Little House books when I was in the 4th grade back in 1964. When the series came on, I of course, was totally elated!! My daughters and I would watch that show every day! We all cuddled up in the wintertime with a fire and quilts and enjoyed every minute.
