mine costs $25.00 and my hubby goes to one of those fast no appointment places and pays $14.00 i think.
i did go to a salon in the Mall and that cost $45.00 or more. same salon that my friend goes to in the Galleria in Houston, but the work they did wasn't up to par. So i go to the $25.00 one again.

Back in the day when I thought I needed to look really good for my job (which is another story), I've paid $35 to $50 for a hair cut; got it cut and colored and paid $150....but those days are over !!!!
I went "natural" a few years back and have a head full of white hair; I also get my simple hair cut at Great Clips on "senior" day which is on Wed here where I live and it is only $9.00......I've learned that folks at Great Clips are hourly employees so they don't have to gouge us for expensive hair cuts just to make their commission.
At the GC where I go I try and see the same person each time...BUT, if she isn't there, I still get a hair cut. Honestly, I have a very classy hair cut and am glad it is only $9 !
NOW, on the other side, I was raised by a barber and a beautician, so I understand what it is to be paid commission...just sayin.....

I have very fine, thin hair which unfortunately shows every sissor mark so I usually have cut with a straight razor. It does an amazing job but you need someone that knows how to use it. I have always paid about $40 plus tip. Several months back she changed salons and the new shop was $65. I have short hair and get cut every 6 weeks so that was pricey. However last week she moved to new shop as lost so many customers and now it $17. I still tip what I always have but she is amazing with crappy hair.

You are so right; if you have difficult hair you will probably pay more for the haircut.....amazingly, since I've gotten older my hair has become curlier (is that a word); has more body and doesn't need attn as it once did...on the other hand I was working at a high pressure job and thought my hair needed special attn....as then I also thought I needed just the right manicure, pedicure and power suits....so where did that get me....no where, and that is where I love to be....no where !

That is an average price for around here. I like the same stylist and knowing what I am going to come out with. Hubby goes to supercuts or another low cost hair place. Never the same person and he never comes out looking the same. Works for him, but, not for me.
