That's why I've almost given up making or even buying Christmas gifts. We are now a family of adults needing very little. I love to have my family home for a big meal, play board games and have some dumb little gifts ( ie chocolate, nuts, jam) but no major stuff. Money is donated from our family to a charity of choice (food bank, Victim's Services)and this has really helped to alleviate Christmas stress and expectations or disappointments. I make and give gifts when I want. My niece was shocked to get a new quilt recently and said "It's not even my birthday" but the quilt was ready and I don't like storing them.
