I have been married to a great guy for 34 years. I takes a lot of patience, determination and work to stay together this long. Is it easy...no way. Is it worth it.. YES!!!

We have been married 16 months.....his wife died after 35 years, and this is my third round (takes me a long time to get things right).....but I have NEVER known such true, total, complete and unconditional love....this man is a saint for loving and supporting me through so much!! I had a fiance` who was the only person in my life who had ever given me total unconditional love, and he died of a sudden heart attack the Christmas before we were to be married. I believed that I had lost the only true love I would have here on earth. But God is sooooo Good....He brought me a Godly man. He is not someone I would have chosen on my own, because we come from such opposite backgrounds! But this man had wounds that most of us are blest not to suffer (a child murdered) and God has used our pain to love beyond any love I could have ever imagined of receiving and giving as well! Because of him and God, and can honestly say, there is nothing closer to heaven than marriage! Let go and Let God!

A little late with my CONGRATS--been off for a while.

My DH and I will celebrate our 50th on July 1.

I remember shortly after we got married a gentleman where I worked and his wife celebrated their 50th and he told me
"The first 50 are the hardest and after that I know it will
    be a breeze"

So soon going to find out if that is so.But must say all the 50 have not been hard--just some years that seemed like
    they were 15 months long.

Karla-belated happy 25th anniversary wishes for you and Mark. I hope the next 25 are as great!!!

Today is our 36th anniversary. Pete and I are spending the week in a wonderful cabin in the Tennessee mountains. We met in college and married when we were 20 after dating just 10 months. We renewed our vows on our 25th anniversary-hope to do it again at our 50th. My parents have been married 58 years and my in-laws have been married 57 years. My grandparents were married 66 years. Pete and I want to set a new family record!!

Happy anniversary today to Melissa and Scott too!!!!

Karla-I think we should all post our wedding pics!

March will be 45 years of marriage. It has been quite a roler coaster ride with lots of good ups and few downs. In May I will be a great Grandma! Wow, time does fly

June 11, 2010 we will hit 50 years. We were married in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Iowa and hope to renew our vows there on June 11, just the two of us! No hoopla, just a nice trip down and a few days more in Iowa visiting family. God willing! Edie
