Yes! They go to the pediatric oncology unit where the ages are 7 weeks to 20 years. The rooms are white. Walls, sheets, blankets...it's all white. So these provide a pop of color, plus they try to match the pillowcase to the child's interests. That way when a nurse or tech comes in, it gives them something to talk about. The guild gifted over 450 pillowcases and 4 quilts to the hospital last night!

My measuring isn't accurate if I stack and cut layers, so I cut individually. Also, some fabrics were wider than others. Basically there was one cut for the body, one for the cuff and one for the flange. Maybe not the most efficient, but it worked for me and gave a good result.

They are all great, nice job, and what a nice thing to do for the teaching hospital. I just finished making a couple pillowcases for my DGD, then made a few more that I hope to sell at my craft table at my church's Strawberry Festival the end of June. The pillowcases are fun to do, and a nice change from the other quilted items I have been making lately, as every so often I need a change of pace, and these give me a quick, satisfying item to make.

Wonderful project! Now, this gives me an idea of what to do with a TON of fabric that I got when my BFF passed away. No way could I cut it all up and sew it back together as quilts - so will seriously think about making pillowcases. The only thing is that most of her fabric was dark colors. I wonder if the hospitals use much bleach when they wash things and would it fade the color out of them very fast???
