? about Walmart Layaway`
Did anyone use the layaway program at Walmart last year? I just went to one of my local Walmart stores to ask about it and neither employee I asked about it had knowledge of the time frame or what the terms were. One employee did tell me that it would run until right before Christmas, but no idea of any starting date. I thought I would ask here. I was really wondering how long something could be on layaway and I guess that would depend on when the program starts and stops. Thanks.

Found this website with information about the Christmas layaway for 2012:

Looks like it's September 16 to December 14.
Also found this, which is more a discussion of its merits:

I can only speak about last year because I have been on LOA for 3 1/2 months, but there was also a limitation as to the type of items you could put on layaway last year. I know it was Electronic items, Bicycles (can't remember other items) and there was a minimum dollar value of items put in layaway. Our Jewelry Department has layaway all year long. I liked it much better when Layaway was all year round. But I can understand why they limited it to the 3 months before Christmas. Maybe that website will give you all the information you need.
