There can be all kinds of reasons why shops aren't in the shop hop. Everything from the quality of the fabrics they carry to personality conflicts with other shop hop owners to the amount of work invovled can all be reasons they're not involved. Unless you know all the owners and know the actual reasons it could be almost anything.

How terrible. Why do people need to be so mean.

There's one near me that I think SHOULD be dropped! The shop I'm talking about is way out in the middle of nowhere (I'm saying 1 1/2 hours from here and there's nothing in between - NOTHING). The shops are required to be open certain hours. I was at another shop when a couple came in and asked about it. Seems they were from far away and had driven clear out there to find the shop closed!!!!!! I didn't bother going out. If they're on the list this year, I'd be surprised.

Yeesh, not enough of a quilt shp, huh??????!! People really can be snotty! Thats to bad, because if the ladies in the shop are nice and helpful, alot of people will miss out.
I dont know what a shop hop is.....must be like a tour, to get lots of people there? Sorry, Im kinda "back woods", lol!!!!!!
The shop I go to is itty bitty too, but the girls in there are SO nice! I am always greeted and asked if I need help, then left alone!

Unbelievable! How can a quilt shop not be "enough of a quilt shop'???? Really, people are just silly when they act like this.

I had an Upholstery shop in Lancaster, Texas eons ago. I advertised in the towns paper, sent out flyers, even had my company name on my van. But, I never got any work in that town. I had customers from all over the area within a 150 miles radius of my business but never from Lancaster.
I later found out from the Pastor of one of the churches. He said because I or my family didn't attend services, we weren't part of the community. So I guess we have Upholstery police too.

Very true, for "not" being part of the community, the city didn't mind taking my taxes every quarter......LOL
